I keep in touch with him to keep tabs on my stores growth with the brand. It sounds like a case at the largest stores is actually a reality. Seems pretty hard to believe that we have more than doubled our Founders sales at my store and got half of what we did last year. Definitely not the way to keep faith with the retailers that sell their brands. Hopefully there is a reasonable explanation as to why MA gets fucked again.

Is being allocated 100 cases for the whole state getting fucked? I honestly don't know. Something tells me Founders told distributors to only send a case to each outlet in order to spread it around..

Some of the bigger stores are getting 2 or more cases, but I think the "issue" here is that theyre are sending a good allocatiom, but spreading it among more and more stores with every rare release.

I'll be going to the Founders Breakfast at Armsby Abbey and Michael Bell of Founders will be there. I'm sure he'll be fielding many of those Mass distribution questions.

I'm in agreement. I had one KBS last year and was underwhelmed. Same with the founders imperial stout. I'm more of a drink local ,drink fresh kind of guy. Not into chasing. Just because it is short supply, doesn't mean it is great. I think if more people knew how good Jacks Abby was, they would be pounding down their doors.

During lunch today, went to Bauer on Newbury and River Street Whole Foods in Cambridge. Bauer said that they were probably getting some, but didn't have it yet. Whole Foods said to check back on Thursday.

I had my gf check on whole foods and she said the same. I wonder if they are going to have a one bottle limit like last yr

Don't know about the bottle limit. Weather permitting (i.e., I can get there on my bike during lunch without being soaked for the afternoon), I hope to be able to report back on Thursday.

Putting in all that work and running all over the place for a bottle or two of a beer is looney tunes.

Agreed.. but when you've been drinking it for 5 years now.. you kinda have to keep it going! I agree the hype is ridiculous..

It really does suck to put in that leg work, especially if there is no reward. Its a damn good beer, and im glad i can chase it for now. Not married, no kids so i can afford to run around like an.idiot chasing one bottle at a time. But im not sure if ill keep doing it past this yr tho.

I find the chase fun - putting in research, checking out stores, etc. Sometimes the work pays off, sometimes it doesn't. Just don't go in always expecting to find what you're hunting for.

Thats how my brother in law found Parabola. Went to a liquor store in Boston to find BA shipyard something and looked at a wicker basket on the floor by the register and boom, parabola.

That double scotch thing. I dunno, he likes shipyard and heavily favors regional stuff to national/foreign. He found it and hated it tho

I can understand that. I've never had it (and at this rate maybe never will), but it better be really spectacular to warrant this shitstorm
