Are they tailgating in the parking lot? Or is it just a big crowd looking for wine? I mean, there were lots of other places to try to go get KBS- why loiter at Steve's waiting for them to post it?

Hey if we keep this up, we might still end up with more posts than the KBS Chicagoland thread. Show 'em where the real beer hounds are.

Any shops in Middleton? Never hear about anyone looking there.

Man there will always be price gougers out there. I'm just going to drink my KBS in peace.

I'm already coming up with ideas for the next fun beertivity I want to do- perhaps a blind taste test between BCBCS, Peruvian Morning and KBS?

As to Middleton- I've heard about that home store that happens to have a singles section but nothing good about it. It doesn't seem like the sort of store that would get a case of KBS. And previously in this thread someone mentioned Brennan's (in response to a question about Avery) but I've not been so IDK. Thoughts anyone?

To the blind tasting part, did not even finish reading your message.

Just called Barriques in Middleton, and the guy had to look it up in the computer, so that's a definite no-go.

If you don't see much/any Founders at a place normally they're probably not going to be getting any KBS. I know people occasionally have luck with some other random grocery stores but I don't shop anywhere but Woodman's regularly so I don't know. I remember hearing about Metcalfe's getting some limited Founders stuff before.

Same. I've never been to Barriques, but I called it just to be sure since someone mentioned Middleton. Seems like the last bastions of KBS are Steve's U and Woodman's West. Many of the other bottle shops outside of the immediate area (Stoughton Spirits for example) got their allocation last night and sold with a one bottle limit.

Woodman's West has it in. As others have said, 2 bottle limit. Looked like a slightly less than a case left at the register I used, might be more behind the other register. I'm thrilled I got some, you guys had me freaking out. I do not want to be competing with Chicago when it comes to crazy releases.

And you narrowly beat me to the punch!

We are already talking blinded tasting: We were thinking BCBS, KBS, BlackNote, BBPt5, and Abyss. I am on record for not being crazy about PV so I have to exclude that little guy

and I gotta say thanks to all of you who were posting in this thread. I thought it was especially cool to have the beer ordering person from Star post in here. Thanks for helping us BA's out!

So generally, that would be a BA stout tasting. No issues with KBS having coffee flavours in it right? And PV assuming that's PM, isn't that an even better reason to include it?! Make sure it's not a preconceived notion that's making it less tasty for you.

And I need to try some BBPt5 ASAP!

I agree, it was cool to see some Madison BAs helping each other out. Seems to me that everyone got some, even in 1-2 bottle amounts.

I second that. BB Pt5th is something I'd love to try.

Good god, they got sold out in 47 minutes according to the FB post. Brett and Felix are probably shaking their heads in bewilderment.
