I'm sure you could find a 2011 hanging around to really see how it ages. The 2012 won't show you anything about how it ages since the coffee flavor was gone completely after the infection took over. From past experience it just slowly fades into tasting like regular BBS. Oddly enough, so do the earlier BBCS's.

As far as the blind thing, blind tastings only work if you don't know what any of the beers are and/or if they don't have give-away distinguishing characteristics. I just put together a blind BA barleywine tasting and everyone could identify King Henry because of the color and the stout flavors. At a previous tasting, we did a trappist quad (Westy 12, Rochefort, Abt 12, etc) blind tasting and everyone was stumped because we originally thought they were so similar. A side by side with these two, blind or not, would yield the same results either way.

Do you think I could trade a bottle of KBS for a bottle of Fifteen?

If you found someone who really wants KBS and got a decent haul of fifteen, that might work.

Good article, besides how the author says anyone who was able to buy it that morning has no class.....

You misinterpreted it, author said, "Unfortunately for those among us who have jobs or class" (like a college class).
I can see how readers would take it like that because it wasn't worded well.

Well in all fairness, it is just a student newspaper... you're right though.

Any chance anyone in Madison has an extra bottle of KBS they'd be willing to part with? Thanks much, all.
