Cryptic response by Hunterdon to a facebook question suggesting that KBS would roll out starting next Monday 3/19. Says to check out the new releases on Friday and that the wait shouldn't be much longer.

Friday is typically when Hunterdon posts what the newly available/back in stock beers are for the next week. So we can expect it that week and worst case scenario the next week. No word on 75 minute though but expect to find the info out the same way. Don't think they're going to do any instant update to the Beer Finder though like they did with CBS because that just caused even more confusion and phone calls to stores because people thought it meant all stores got it on Monday when in reality everyone has a specific delivery day from Hunterdon. So happy hunting and check hunterdon's website or facebook some time friday I guess.

When I spoke to a Hunterdon salesman on Monday 3/12, he said that we probably won't start seeing KBS in NJ until the first week of April. They could always move up the release date between now and then, but their release window is usually later than consumers expect.

Another good way to get a general idea when it will come to NJ is when it starts popping up in the NY area. NJ almost always gets their deliveries 1 to 3 weeks after NY.

Hunterdon will start distributing on Monday.

Most of their releases hit stores on different days depending on what their normal delivery days are.

Some special releases are pushed out early though...

If anyone in Northern NJ doesn't mind driving the extra 15 minutes over the NY border, Cable Beverages in Rockland jsut got their KBS in. one bottle per customer though.

I saw someone say they did... I have not gone out yet. Most stores I go to get their Hunterdon shipments later in the week

I called several stores in the central Jersey area, and none of them know when or if they'll be getting any this week. Even Oak Tree says they will probably only get one case (they usually get around 5-10). Founders is spreading its limited releases way to far and thin nowadays.

I dont know if the jersey allocation has stayed the same the last few years, but the amount each store gets is up to the distro. Hunterdon wants to make as many store owners happy as they can. So, more stores get one case. I believe they started this method last year. I heard it was a decision by the heads. I don't think it's in the hands of the salespeople anymore.

Hunderton fucked over south jersey again. Think it's the same distro as the BM and BHC. They are awesome. Lucky to have them.

Top x amount of stores got 2 cases. The next so many stores got 1 case. All based on total founders sales. Hunterdon screwed no one. The consumers screwed south jersey by not buying enough founders. And you can't complain until your store's Hunterdon delivery day. Not every store gets deliveries on Monday. I know my store gets it Tuesday and I know a ton of stores with Thursday deliveries.

You again? You live up north. Speak for up there not down here. We saw kbs last year and all previous years. My stores got there hunderton shipments today and nothing. Yes they screwed SJ again. Do you work for them besides working at a store?

Hunterdon has changed its allocation policies for limited items over the past year; sometimes it's been by brand support and other times by total volume sales across the Hunterdon portfolio, and now I'm learning that if you are a store (off-premise classification) that can do draft (growler stations), you get bumped ahead even if you don't sell bottles for sh*t. Not exactly a uniform policy, but I don't hate Hunterdon for it either. But that blurs the line a bit between off-prem and on-prem and who gets what.

It's also hard to sell more Founders when you order it and it is not in stock at the distributor. How is it possible for a retailer to increase Founders's sales volume when the brand's main line of products are not available to order on a regular basis (e.g., Centennial IPA, Red's Rye P.A., Dirty Bastard)? That was my experience for a large part of 2011. I'm sure other beer buyers in the area deal with the same frustration. It's not as black and white as we'd like it folks.

FYI Spirits Unlimited in Point Pleasant Beach (Ocean County) got a case of KBS and they are sending the e-mail out Thursday to growler list customers and an employee there told me they are releasing it later this Saturday.
