KBS in New Jersey

So, how did you all make out today?

I got 2 ea from my two regular shops where I have relationships with the beer guys.. none at the other 3 stores i stopped into.. 1 of those stores had some but only sell to the regulars who have spent the most money over the past year, they do a program that tracks what you buy for special releases... wish i would have known that earlier because i've spent at least $ 200-300 there so far in 2012 but ended up with no KBS or 75 min. Oh well, glad i have good relations with the shops i got my bottles from. in the end i ended up paying $32 after tax for 4 KBS. $6.99 at one shop and $7.99 at the other

1 bottle from NYC 0 in NJ. Seems like you can't have a 9-5 and get this beer unless you are on a list.

 

Gotta get on a list for beers like this....this way, it's not a problem. one place by me got 2 cases and held one back for after 6PM for people that had to work. i thought that was pretty cool..

 

yeah i'm an 8 - 5 er so i went to the local shops during lunch... granted i work 2.5 miles from where i live so my local shops are local to where i work as well

Ya unfortunately I don't work near good bottle shops. I gotta get on some lists next big release, unaware of my local spots doing it but I'll just have to talk beer with them and figure it out.

 

Does anybody know what Hunterdon charged per case to the stores? I figure founders probably charged what, $ 95-100 per case, Hunterdon then charges what 110-120, then stores sell at the cheapest bottles @ 5 = $120/CS. At least i've seen reports of people buying a 4pk for $19.99.

Was just trying to figure Markup %'s down the distro line for something of the KBS nature

Where's the love for South Jersey? Apparently, Hunterdon only sent 4 cases of KBS to Atlantic County and south? The one establishment got it last year and are not getting it this year? Huh???

 

theres alot less cases this year than last year, so they sent it to the top X amount of accounts

 

I know of the place. My wife was sick and i had to pick up my boy from day care and couldn't make it out of the house for the 6pm buy. Love KBS but family comes first. Plus my friend got a few more bottles than me so i hope he will share some with me when he pops them open.

Martin's Liquors on Route 38 in Mt. Laurel has 4-packs! go go go!
Canal's on 38 in Pennsauken told me they'll be getting theirs in today, and Benash on 38 in Cherry Hill said Monday.

 

Update: Martin's is sold out. To be expected when offering four-packs.

I wanted to jump on it and get over there but decided that the 4 i've gotten so far is fine with me. Also with what i paid for the four i got after tax $32 i didn't want to drop another $28 on another 4 and end up spending $60 for 8 bottles.

More craft money for NN next week! Only have half a case left of my original and i'm sure that'll be down to ~ 4 bottles by the time Thursday comes around

 

They are selling single bottles at the Canals right off of 70 by cherry hill/camden.

I tried to con more out of the guy but couldnt. 7.99

Got mine about 5pm

 

Went to one of my go to places today and what do I see on the shelf ..... KBS ..... So I did the right thing and bought all 6 of them. And this is one of the well known places in South Jersey. I could not believe it ........

My wife works in Glassboro and got me a bottle at Hops and Grapes. One bottle limit.

 

went to Spirits Pt. Pleasant Beach to get one today. they sent an email friday saying it would go on sale a noon. get there exactly at noon and all gone they were giving out tickets before hand I was the 17th person there i think. If you say on sale a noon it should be noon. Say in the email if you are giving out tickets before hand. Thats not what go me pissed. I was pissed off they were only selling 15 bottles the other 9 were going to the employees. They would even have that case of KBS if the customers didn't buy founders products. they were cahrging $9.99 and at 2 othere spirits they were only $7.99
