Weren't there supposed to be more bottles this year? I seem to recall a formal apology from Founders last year addressing the high demand of this brew. And they were going to try to fix that for next year. Well, I don't see any difference.

Saw the same kind of thing with Backwoods too. That flew off the shelves quicker this year compared to last. Supply<demand.

and other areas are able to get 1 4-pack of KBS. NC 1 bottle per in Winston/GSO. Raleigh was 2. This is upsetting.

Both total wine and City Beverage got 2 cases in versus 1 case from last year...but, yeah, as fast as KBS goes, a one case difference really does not seem to be a big difference.

Were you able to get any?

Got 2. 1 from TW and a customer there told me city bev had it so I rushed there. I actually had no idea it was coming out that day. Right place right time.

I'm thankful I got 2. Don't get me wrong. But I was expecting there to be more this year after last year.

They may have released more, but the still seemingly limited case count could be due to the exanded distribution they started up in '12. They are also adding a few more states this year, with Florida starting in May.

From what my friends here in Ohio tell me, its even worse here. This guy gets Cantillon, but has wholly given up on KBS.

I like to day dream about KBS being a year round and easy to find like Founders Porter...

The TW in North Hills/Raleigh "got" 1/2 a case this morning. I say "got" because I'm pretty sure they opened a full case in the back and kept 1/2 for themselves.

I've basically given up on seeing KBS again. It's a shame since its one of the few beers that consistently lives up to the hype.

I thought that was fishy...I was able to get my 1 bottle limit, so can't complain too much, but I would think that if they really only got a 1/2 case that the other 1/2 would show up at one of the other Triangle area TW's, but that doesn't seem to be the case (no pun intended). I did find a few bottles of OHB Seven Devils on the shelf, which I had thought was long gone, so that made it a worthwhile trip!

I mean, I saw them wheel it up from the back and the box was definitely already opened. Of course it would have to be if 1/2 went to another store...but I know Cary got a full case, not sure why NH would just get 1/2.

Don't feel bad, Aside from the brewery release, Distro has been scarce this year even in Michigan. Last year I was able to get 12 bottles through distro, this year I only managed 6

Same deal with Hopslam. More around, but demand exponentially increased somehow. I got one bottle, I'm happy with that. I've had so much other good stuff I don't care. Did Sam's drop there's already or are they planning another event like last year? I thought what they did with the Founders tap take over was awesome.

As craft beers become more popular, and sites like this grow, the number of people hunting down rarities like KBS will be going up. Hopefully that $27million reno they are doing means more KBS for next year. I have a couple bottles to trade if anyone has anything enticing...

I don't chase trucks, but I managed one at Bestway and 1 at TW. I remember when City had them on the shelf and they sat at $6 a bottle, not knowing an better at that time I passed.

No clue. Knowing them, they'll probably have some sort of release fiesta like last year. Sounded like a lot of fun.
