    I think this year is better than last year, which I thought was the worse year of KBS I've had.

    Totally agree. KBS in bottles this year doesn't seem to be on par with previous batches. We had a tasting today and all preferred Sunday Morning. Doubt that would have been true with past batches of KBS.

    So any news whether the University Total Wine ever got any? I went the Promenade TW on the 3rd and they said they were out. Didn't say when they received it, or how much, but just that they were out. Though that cashier did say he landed a 4-pack he planned to age a few months.

    This is my first year searching for any rare beers, as I just started drinking craft near the end of last year. I'm getting the feeling that KBS is harder to come across than NoDa's Hop Cakes was (roughly 3000 4-packs distributed around the Charlotte and surrounding area).

    I think that's true. With Hop Cakes, you could find it at EarthFare, for example, and most other stores that sell NoDa beers. KBS was only sent to a select few stores in the Charlotte area. Made for a tougher grab.

    I still was about to score 47 bottles, but that's also because I have skills. But don't accuse me of hoarding. I intend to trade them out of town.

    Make that four bottles. I count myself lucky.

    Bump for those in Charlotte but The Cellar has a 4 year vertical of KBS on draft (13,14,15,16). They aren't doing the special price flight anymore but you can try any of the vintages. Having the 2015 poured at 55 degrees was spectacular. Can't believe they have had all 4 on draft for a week now!

    Mellow Mushroom in Winston is tapping KBS and Backwoods Bastard on Sept 1.
