You are indeed correct. I meant margins.

Fair enough - didn't mean to patronize, my bad. I guess I see the splitting 4 packs as a logical extension and probably something the breweries actually quite like - I mean, the more hype the better right, and if people are willing to stand in line for hours to get 1 bottle, then surely this brewery must make some awesome beers!

Just outside Atlanta. Nearly every store in the greater metro area charges roughly the same....a few places gouge here and there, but a $9.99 6pk is pretty much that price everywhere, you don't see some at $7.99 and others at $11.99. Now there are limited beers that see more markup, but with KBS talk I've only ever heard of one place charging above $7 locally for a single bottle. The $10+ stuff doesn't seem to happen here at all.

Must be nice to shop for beer in Atlanta! I do notice things are a buck cheaper in Wisconsin when I go for beer runs up there, but in general around Chicago, everything is $10-12 for 6 packs, and bombers are always $8-12 even for pretty regular sort of things (Lagunitas being a big exception). The only places that can get away with 20% margins on specialty beer are massive volume places like Costco...

$24 a 4 pack in Hampton Roads. You could only buy one or two though depending on the store.

Most retailers live at 15-20% markup in grocery, 20-25% in C-Store, and a bit higher in specialty shops. At least that's been my experience working at wholesalers.

$5.99-$6.99 is the norm for singles around here. Was able to actually snag a 4 pack today for $21.

$8.99 + tax at Whole Foods in DC, so essentially $10 a bottle. i bought 2 because i happened to be in the store when they broken them out, but it kills me to know that some folks got a 4-pack for the price of my 2 bottles.

whatever, it only happens once a year :astonished:

Just find solace that everyone would buy it without blinking if it was a 20$ bomber like alot of the Backstage stuff.

Really not that bad. 18$ for a bomber (+ 2 oz). Thats what everyone pays for the backstage stuff.
