Anyone know if they made more this year or about the same? Thanks.

They allowed you to purchase 3 4 packs this year, usually it is 2, so I would guess they either made more this year, or did less tickets for the release.

Or they are distributing less, because they would rather sell a 4-pack for $20 to a consumer, than sell it for $10 (maybe less) to a distributor.

Didn't Russian River pull Pliny from retailers that charged too much? Why can't Founders do the same thing?

Russian River was able to do this because in California, breweries are allowed to distribute their own product. They are not forced to go through a 3rd party like they are here in Michigan. Once Founders sells the beer to the distributor, they have no control over where it goes or how it is priced.

It'll be one bottle per person here, for a beer that generates so much negative comments you would think it wouldny fly off the shelves. It will be gone in less than an hour , even the big places will only get 2-3 cases.

Recalling last year, it went from
$5--$10/bottle in Philly last year. Significant price-gouging expected again:angry:

My local dive liquor store with a better than average craft selection (usually reasonably priced) sold me a bottle last week for $9. This week the beer guy at the same store called, told me he got another couple of cases, and offered me a 4-pack. I shamed him a little on the price and he sold it to me for $22. Two lessons: 1) know your beer guy and 2) don't be afraid to question ridiculous pricing.

If anything that's backwards - the limit of two last year was the anomaly. Year before that I think it was three, and before that it was even more. But to your point, yes, that does suggest to me that they made more this year, as I never thought I'd see it go back up, since the previous trend had been decreases or holds every year.

It's usually between $20-$25 a 4 pack around me, but it will likely be 1-2 bottle limit for over $6 as it was last year. I doubt I'll see any, but if I can't get at least a 4 pack for around $20 I don't really care. Until a couple years ago I used to get 4 packs every year for $20 without having to race from store to store hoping to find it. Now it's gotten ridiculous. It's a great beer ( in fact I think it was the first beer that made me involuntarily say "Wow") but I'm not going to fight for it. I was talking to The beer store guy last night and he told me last year they had a guy come in with his whole family, inlaws and all, each grabbing as much as they could, then travelling on to the next store. Kinda brings new meaning to "Family Time", or "Get a life".

Completely disagree. In my area, the biggest stores are lucky to get 2 or 3 cases, so I highly appreciate the one bottle limit, and idea that they don't advertise or shelf the beers. You need to ask.

Went to a tapping last night of KBS, supposed to be limit one bottle, but not as many people showed as they probably expected, ended up 2 from the store, and one of the guys offered me his since it was my first tasting and he's had it plenty of times. Awesome gesture.

    So got 3 @5.99/bottle

paid $5.59 at whole foods, $5.99 and Kroger, and $7.99 at Andersons. Just saw a post on one of my feeds of a guy who paid $240 for a case. I'm sorry, but $10/bottle/case is ridiculous.
