Yeah right? If someone said to you '$200 gets you a 4 pack of regular, 2 coffee, 2 barleywine and 1 each Prop and Vanilla' would you go for it? I probably would.
That is about 75% more than the standard retail for the bottles, so an extra $80, but given the demand and the lines over thanksgiving eve, I would think my evening sitting in front of a Binnys is worth $80...

I think your margins are pretty high unless your talking about a real mom n pop. 50% margin on a bomber is pretty insane. the store where I work keeps the beer prices pretty low. We aim for around 15% but that's just craft stuff.

Fyi KBS was $4.99 a single w a 4 pack max at the store in NJ, which I will not be disclosing.

Considering the shops in town aren't even getting any, looks like I won't have to make the decision myself. I'm not knocking the beer or anybody who buys it. I just feel like there are plenty of beers I have easier access to that are half the price and probably just as good. If you really want to convince me, how about you send me a couple bottles and shut me up?

I am just saying in a year $22 for a 4 pack you really want you won't bat an eye. I remember when a 4 pack at that price was scary as shit, but now a can't stop my self because I know how lucky I am they let me have 4!

I gotcha, and I hope you're right! Maybe I took your first post out of context (or maybe I can't take a joke). But in all honesty, if I saw in on the shelf, I would have to buy at least 1 or 2 bottles to see what it's all about.

That is incredibly low - wish the stores by me did that! So you store has to clear 3 grand in sales a day to generate $450 in gross margin (before rent, wages, utilities, other costs)? Glad I am not in that business, that is tough!

I would think $200 across the board for all three four packs and both bombers. Hell I would go 225 to never have to sit outside of grand ave at midnight again.

Exactly, so when I see a store marking KBS up $10 or $12 a 4 pack I don't sweat - at least I was able to buy it without having to run over town. My time is worth something, and it sure as hell is more than $10 given the chase required for KBS!!

In the various stores I've gone to this week looking for KBS, it was priced anywhere from $6-7 for a single. I'm 2 hours 15 mins from Founders/GR (NW Indiana) and still all the stores received only 1 case and had a 1-bottle limit. Of the other places I called about KBS, they will be receiving it today or Thursday - debating if I should waste more time picking up 1 bottle at each store. I have friends all over the country and they received KBS and were able to buy 4-packs - doesn't make sense.

Just paid $27 for a 4 pack at two stores in Louisville, KY this morning with a limit of 1. Apparently they were doing 4 packs for the first 10 customers, then singles for everybody else, but I'm not sure what the single limit was.

I disagree to some extent. I wish Founders would send more cases to their customers in and around Grand Rapids and less to wider footprint. I completely understand 1 and 2 bottle limits when stores are selling out in a matter of minutes/hours. At one place this year, I was 60th on the reserve list. Luckily, they got 6 cases, and not the usual 1 or 2. If the limit was a 4 pack, I would not have gotten any. The way to regulate this would be to send more cases, so they don't feel the need to break them up to please more customers.

I can see it from that point of view. I say the same thing for BCBS every year. I wish Goose kept more of it in Chicago.

I see people's complaint, but it seemed fairly attainable to be able to get 8 bottles from the brewery, and with a friend or sig other, thats 2/3 of a case. Also they had KBS and CBS on tap for a good amount of time from what I heard. Also I would bet quite a few places in your area will have it on tap throughout the year.

You guys get an INSANE amount in Chicago. When crappy corner liquor stores are getting cases of each variants, huge liquor stores throughout the US are sometimes getting 1-2 cases of just regular.

Picked up a 4 pack last year for $30, thought that price wasn't bad.

In TX it was $23 a 4pk. The way I see it, if they were to sell this in bombers for $12, I wouldn't even think twice about it.

HAHA no we do not. If you want a shot at whole four packs and both bombers you have to get in line pretty much right after you finish eating thanksgiving dinner. The beer is made here IMO there should be more than enough in chicago to not have to worry about lining upfor it before it ever sees distro but thats just my opinion.
