This is my first thread or post ever. I live in the Atlanta Area. Is there a specific release date for KBS in this area?
Its already come and gone, my man. It comes out on the Ides of March (15th). Every store sold out within the hour of release date.
It was released mid-March, and it is highly (and I mean HIGHLY) unlikely you'll be able to find any in stores at this point. There should be more to go around next year, in the meantime your best bet to get some KBS would be via trading...
Considering I was only able to score a single bottle of this within Michigan, I think its safe to say your going to be waiting until next year unless you go the trade route. That one single bottle I can honestly say however was the absolute best bottle of stout beer I have ever consumed. Many beers IMO can be hyped a lot, but this lives up to the hype and I will activly try to get this again next year. I will actually try very hard to find a 4 pack as it was that good. I am not into trading, so I don't know the trade value. But if you can get your hands on one it will make you a very happy person for one hour! ;-) This beer IMO is why we are in the hobby of trying amazing beer.
This could be hearsay but if you catch a leprechaun you can make him take you to his pot of KBS he has brewing at the end of a double rainbow.
Is Founders even distributed to Georgia? If so, then you might want to keep tabs on any special events at ALL the better bars in the area. Founders likes to participate in beer events throughout the year. Sometimes, a Founders rep shows up to one of these events with a keg of something special.
Founders does distribute to GA. I've actually had more luck finding KBS in Atlanta than here in Pittsburgh. The only CBS I got last year came from GA too. Get to know your local store owners, know your release dates and be willing to do some searching. The hunt is half the fun!
Founders and their tight special release brews are frustrating as hell. One bottle limits @ 10 bucks a pop? There has to be a better way.
