i'am flying into chicago and then planning on driving to founders to pick up my KBS allotment on the wednesday release. i was thinking of making a pit stop somewhere in chicago to grab a bite and drink a pint. any suggestions on where to go in the chicago area? or on my way to Founders?

There are many awesome brew pubs in Chicago right now. Revolution is one of the first places to come to mind. I think right now for the combo of food and beer they are pretty hard to beat. If you are looking for other breweries I would consider: Haymarket, Goose Island, Half Acre. Even a trip over the border to 3 Floyds would be pretty easy.

3 Floyds isn't far out of the way. Great food and great beer.

Three Floyds for sure. It's just off 94, maybe seven or eight miles total out of your way. I stopped by when I was last in Chicago and it only added about a half hour to our total trip. Some of the other breweries around Grand Rapids are great too, like Perrin and Odd Side.

FFF is 3 miles south of 80/94 just off Calumet Ave. You're lookin at maybe 10-15 mins out of your way total. Plus, if you're going on a Wednesday the crowd should be pretty light. You should have no prob getting a table or a seat at the bar to enjoy some awesome brews and a good meal.

It definitely varies week to week. Your best bet is to check their website, click on brewpub and go to the tap list the day(s) leading up to when you'll be there. They keep it updated anytime something new is added or removed from the tap list or the to go menu.
