KBS sightings in Maine

Talked to Tully's earlier and they said they've heard nothing about when it might hit.

 

I herd Tuesday as well.

 

And Tullys will probably charge 25% more than everyone else.

 

Of course you'll have to take it up to the register to find out. Since they don't have any prices on their cooler beers because "prices are always changing".

Funny though, every other store seems to be able to handle putting prices on beers.

 

Bier Cellar posted on Facebook page that they were doing an email lottery for KBS and Doom tomorrow.

 

That's why I don't go there anymore unfortunantly.

 

I noticed the same thing when I stopped by on Saturday. Asked about KBS and couldn't get any info. I plan on waiting til it hits NH.

 

Did not know that. Are there any decent bottle shops nearby that are better choices?

 

Portland has Bier Cellar and Downeast Beverage. Then there's Carls in Kittery? Don't know about KBS unfortunately.

 

Maybe they don't price their beer since they only have three months to make a years' worth of money. Maybe they don't price their beer so in the off season they can charge a ME resident a decent price. I have bought beer there when they are in season and when they aren't. I find the prices fair for the quality beers they offer. If Tully's had KBS in stock, you wouldn't buy any since an extremely limited release was marked up? Unless you're located north of Portland in NH, you'd rather drive there and waste gas to save $2?

 

Make a trip to South Berwick and visit Nature's Way Market. 15-20 minutes away and the owner is extremely knowledgable and offers a great selection. He'll keep you posted on what's coming in and prices are clear.

 

Well the thing for me is that I go to Portland every other week or so. So on my way up, I have Natures Way or Carls (depending on the route I take), then Tullys, then the Portland stores. Tullys is always significantly more expensive than any of those 4 stores at any given time.
If Tullys had KBS and was marking it up, I wouldn't buy any out of principle. It's just like the places in Boston that charged upwards of 20$ for Backwoods Bastard when it was released (I know it's not as rare). Rarity of a seasonal shelf beer, shouldnt be taken for granted.

 

Natures Way is a great little store!

 

Extremely limited releases, ya gotta pay to play IMO. Either way, best of luck. It's going to be brutal.
