I've got two 4-packs reserved. Local bottle shop did a Facebook promotion, first 12 people or so got two 4-packs reserved.

How is everyone getting 4-packs today? Apparently stores just don't give a shit about release dates.

He's the douche if he doesn't tell you that he's charging double the typical price.

    Absolutely.
And I would make certain to tell him he's a douche.

Probably won't get any this year. I can't be bothered to go hunting for this stuff anymore. My go-to beer store sold their allotment today, and I didn't have time to go by.

Personally, I could do without the whole "beer advocacy" thing. A couple years ago, this stuff sat on the store floor for a week or more. You could buy as much as you want. Last year, you were usually limited to one or two 4-packs and it sold out within a day or two. Now, it's limited to one or two BOTTLES and sells out within hours.

Just ******ed. I used to drink this stuff on a weekly basis. It was no big deal. I gave it away as extras in trades like it was candy. Now it's borderline unattainable unless you're willing to jump through hoops or drive around for a 4-pack, one bottle per store at a time. I was checking out at my go-to store today and overheard the beer guy on the phone. Someone was calling about KBS. At the end of the conversation, the beer guy had to explain to the caller where they were located. Nice. Asshole has never even been to the store before, and he's calling to score some KBS.

More than anyone, I blame the stores for this crap. Stop giving this info out over the phone. Make people come into the store. Reward your regular customers.

I don't think many of them even know. I was talking to a beer guy today, and he had a "What the hell are you talking about?" look when I made referenced that the brewery had a designated release date.

This is a pretty reasonable idea, I think. But they should make sure they will answer those who ask in the store and not just tell their favorite customers, since not every craft beer drinker is going to be super-friendly and buddy up with the employees.
