I am obviously fairly new to this and looking to trade some of the KBS I'll be acquiring in a couple weeks for some other harder to find brews I can't get in my area. Does a beer like KBS trade $4$ with most other beers in the Top 250 that are still in production or does it really depend on a beer by beer basis. For example could I trade a KBS for BBPT5th straight up?
It does depend on what you are looking for and how the other trade values the other beers. You should be able to go 1:1 for like bcbs and bbpt5, might have to go slightly higher like 5:4 for bcbs coffee or black note.
Kbs isn't an easy get here anymore, most places here a 1 bottle limit . Obviously small allocations and greater demand. I personally wouldn't trade bapt5 for kbs, that's even harder to get. Just depends on who and where like most things, but a better chance with bcbs because it's so widely available. Forget BCBCS , I doubt you could much with that , distro was really tight, not much in the way of volume anywhere.
So obviously it depends on who I'm trading with in regards to where they live and what is available to them
I may be a touch bias being able to easly get all of thise beers with relative ease. It took me going to chicago to get bcbs coffee but it is like a 2 hour drive so it wasnt a huge thing and dark hourse is under an hour away. So yes your 100% right that it depends on who your trader is and where they are from.
I'm coming up from Baltimore for the KBS release and figured the stuff I will be looking for is easier to find in that area. Just wanted to make sure when I make my IP Trade post that I'm making a reasonable offer
KBS for BBpt5 might be easier this year as the allotment for those picking it up at the brewery this year is only 8 bottles as opposed to 12 last year or a case in previous years, yet the allotment for BB plead was 2 cases. I could easily see a Michigan trader that got 48 BB Pt5 swapping 4 of them for 4 KBS. I did that exact trade last year, but it was IP at Founders on the day I picked up KBS.
I intend to do the eaxct same thing next week assuming I find someone who is interested.. thanks for the info!
