KBS Week 2017

Yeah last year was 3-12 (Saturday) according to Untappd. I got my Tix on 2-13 so it shouldn't be long now

 

Yep. They should send out ticketing dates shortly.

 

Saw the dates and got immediately concerned, as I'll be out of country from March 7-12, and I wanted to get some KBS from the source for the first time ever.
Then I realized I am totally free March 6!
Since I have never been to Founders to get KBS, can someone give me an idea how this works. Can I get KBS Monday March 6? Thanks for any help.

Edit to add - OK I just found the 2016 thread. Looks like I need to purchase a ticket, and hope that March 6 is one of the date options (last year was Tues-Sat).

Even though I was able to get a ton of KBS here in Chicago last year on my own, I'm still somewhat intrigued to check this out at some point. I was shut out of tickets last year, though, so I'm not expecting much this year.

 

At this point, it's more of a nice, short, road trip than anything else. Part of my value added is the drive, and a detour through Kalamazoo. If you enjoy that sort of thing as much as I do, it's well worth it. There's also the new batch of CBS. The last time CBS was made, it was on the for he entire KBS week.

 

Is this confirmed? Saw they had it on a day of the cellar raid event, but didn't know it was slated for this year. Don't follow them too closely on social media just because there's so much closer here in Chicago.

 

Since when did they exclude the Saturday from KBS week? I didn't go last year, but the previous 4 years I had a ticket for that Saturday.

 

I've honestly never cared much for CBS, so that doesn't get me all excited like it would for most (although I am intrigued to try the new batch). But, I like the short road trip to a great beer city for what is probably a fun atmosphere different than the regular visits I've had at Founders.

 

last year, CBS was tapped every day. Most days were at 4:00. last day was noon I think. I just read most of the 2016 KBS week thread lol

 

If they excluded Saturday in favor of Monday I am truly happy, as Monday is the only day I can make it!!!

 

Do those dates refer to their events/tappings around town and then Saturday the 11th is brewery only for tapping/bottle pickup? Maybe that's why Saturday isn't included?

 

The Founders wall calendar has it from Tuesday to Saturday as usual. So, that would be March 7 to March 11.

 

Good luck. Tickets sold out in like 2 seconds last year. Only one of three of us got selected. Very frustrating.

 

I spoke with someone at founders and they confirmed the release party is at the brewery on Saturday the 11th

 

This year's KBS week appears to be one day longer. Monday-Saturday.

 

Any word on if there will be more tickets this year? Was curious based on their expanded barrel aging program.

 

They changed the date on the website to reflect the 11th.

 

Ha! I misread my own calendar! It has KBS Release Week from Monday, March 6th to Saturday, March 11th.

I do remember now that the local off-site tappings of KBS have started on Monday, but the bottle sales pickups have started on Tuesday. That's been true for the last couple of years where they had this "KBS Week" celebration. My guess would be that nothing has changed on the bottle sale front and pickups will be Tuesday through Saturday.
