KBS Week 2017

I asked the lady at the taproom on Wednesday about "special" stuff. She said "maybe Saturday" but I wouldn't bet the house on it...

 

Not betting the house but betting my wake up time on it

 

First time heading to Founders for the Saturday release. Is it reasonable to get in for a pour without arriving super early? Pro-tips for a KBS Week noob are appreciated.

Got my ticket for Sunday pick-up so all good there.

 

All of those were on when I was there last Sunday (3/5), so sounds like there hasn't been a ton of "special" tappings thus far. That said, Lemondrop and BA Curmudgeon were both excellent.

 

Yeah, we were there Wednesday. They had BA Curmudgeon and a very tasty BA pale called Boyl'r Mak'r, but I wouldn't expect any surprises until Saturday. If anyone's looking, they do have Backwoods in bottles at the store. Had an excellent sandwich and a couple beverages, then wandered off to Greyline. I get the feeling that Founders really blew it out earlier in the year (Cellar Raid) and are maybe staying a bit more to the name of the event this year. It's called KBS Week, after all, not We're Going to Tap Crazy Whalez Everyday Week. Sounds like you've had to be on your game to get a pour of KBS at the other venues too - Founders posted that they finished the kegs at all three "guest" locations a couple days ago, and I saw that Monelli's killed their keg in 20 minutes last night.

 

Yeah actually there is a sweet spot for gaining entry when people who got in line for entry/stayed for lunch begin to leave. Early/Mid afternoon has a shorter line than 11-12. However, not sure how the weather will impact the line as well as the crowd since the beer garden was huge last year

use ticketfly app vs moving it to apple wallet. they will need to verify the name with the scan code when checking ID.
