KBS Week 2017

Looks like good success rate on tickets. Either they allocated a bunch more to on-premises sale, or interest in KBS has slipped a bit.

 

I'm sure the switch from $5 tickets to paying for all bottles up front made a big difference. If you're not within a couple of states it's tough to commit to that amount of money unless you're 100% that you can make it on the pick up day

 

I gave up my ticket this year and plan to get some when they release at the brewery in a few weeks. Whoever got my ticket, pm me so we can arrange for you to give me my thank you beers.

 

Both my wife and I scored Sunday tickets. We're only keeping 2 4 packs and a 750. The rest is being muled back to SEMI for friends.

Unfortunately no. Just a few Perch. No lakers like last year

 

For those who have been to the Saturday release event in years past, do the crowds abate at all throughout the day?

 

Not really at all, maybe late late in the evening, like 1130?

 

Yeah crowd doesn't abate but the line outside does. It was a short line at mid-afternoon last year. I got there closer to open and it was a lengthy line.

We're about 12 hours away from finding out if CBS should be part of our expectations this week...

 

So, while KBS is being tapped in GR starting today bottle pickup doesn't actually begin until tomorrow. So if some mega whale(CBS)doesn't tap today I wouldn't get discouraged. I don't think we'll start seeing crazy stuff until tomorrow.

 

Wife and I are going to the release party for the first time on Saturday. What time should we be there if we want to get a table for lunch?

Tough to say. Weather was 25-30 degrees warmer last year than the forecast is for Saturday. The beer garden was in heavy use last year which spread things out nicely

 

If anyone happens upon an extra KBS Week t-shirt, size L or XL, I'm very much interested in getting one. I've gotten them the last 3 years and can't make it up there until saturday/sunday. Really want to keep my collection growing.

 

Hey guys - I'm heading to Founders on Wednesday for KBS week and its the first time I am going. Do you know if they will they have KBS pouring in the taproom?

Going to Grand Rapids with my wife on Saturday morning and picking up my beer Sunday. Besides the taproom, what other beer places would be good for lunch and dinner?

 

Vivant has fantastic food and nice beer IMO - get the Duck Nachos!
