KBS Week 2017

LOL. My wife and I both bought Sunday pick-up tickets. I'll admit it felt quite strange to acknowledge that I was actually buying beer to-go on a sunday. I triple checked it to make sure. I'll be up there all weekend so I figured we will just grab our bottles on the way out of town.

 

Yes, you can have KBS at Founders before Saturday. Pick up your bottles, uncap one, and have the server pour it in a glass for you. Tip well. Open up one of those bombers and share it with folks around you.

 

Any idea if CBS will be in tap at all this week?

 

I was hoping but didn't see it yesterday or so far today

 

Did a search and CBS went on draft of Tuesday of KBS Week in 2016. So it's reasonable to root for it to be on today if it's going to be on this week....

The hope was it was going to be like 2015 (the last time they had a fresh batch) when it was on from open to close the entire week. Oh well.

 

I would temper your expectations on CBS. I don't see a good reason why it would be tapped this year. In 2015 they had just made it. In 2016 they poured the leftovers. I know there's a fresh batch possibly in the waiting but if they tap it for the 3rd year in a row its setting a weird expectation.

 

I thought they had this years batch for Cellar Raid already? I thought i read that on here

 

Very easy release. Found parking on side street near construction. Walked in and picked up bottles and was gone in under 3 minutes. Lunch at Greyline was phenomenal.

 

There are no special restrictions to visiting the taproom this week. 2017 KBS will not be on until Saturday. In past years, I recall hearing that vintage KBS was on tap during the week. Also, as mentioned elsewhere, 2017 KBS will be on tap at a few different places around town each day this week before Saturday.

Packaged KBS will not be available without a ticket at Founders. KBS hits distribution on Monday, March 13th in Michigan.

 

Yes, they did. Multiple times each day.

 

Got my ticket for Sunday. I'm also popping in for a brewery tour at 12:30, so that it should be a fun day.

 

To me its more coffee forward this year than last. Still good but last year I thought it was perfect from jump but this year seems like it would be best 4-6 months from now

 

they tapped it during cellar raid in January, GR beer week two weeks ago. I would guess at minimum they tap it Saturday.

 

I'm picking up Sunday, I'm guessing they'll have it on tap leftover from Saturday?

 

Any other "special" beers on tap yesterday? I'm going today...
Last year I discovered Spike Cutlass which was terrific!

 

I wasn't there yesterday but I've been following the check-ins for the first two days. Looks like BA Curmudgeon, Lemondrop IPA, Breakfast Stout Nitro, Koz, and Frootwood have been among the most checked in so far.

 

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they tapped CBS on Saturday. I was there a few weeks ago on a random Friday night and they were pouring it. Luckily this was also the same day that my friend from WI was visiting, so he lucked out and got CBS on his first ever trip to Founders.
