I'll be sure to bring my parents as mules for me, sitting on the ticket server now. Is it Feb 14th yet?
How has the ticket system worked in the past - What's an individuals allotment, and how are bottle pickup lines?
Last year, allotment was 8 bottles. No lines to speak of when I went.
Similar to years in past. Tickets are "name specific". Purchased online before the event. You select the day you want to purchase and have the option to buy up to 8 bottles for $20 a 4-pack.
well, a lot of those details can be found on the link but simply put a ticket allows you to purchase 2 4-packs @ $20 per, but only on the day for which the ticket was purchased.
You can basically show up at any point during the day and get in your allotment, so depending on when you show it could be a bit of a wait but were not talking long at all.
Actually purchasing the tickets has been the trick the last few years so hopefully its hiccup free this year. I got shut out a few years ago when the system crapped out from the traffic volume.
Edit: I actually heard some people having luck with different browsers (IE v Chrome v Firefox) that year which, due to throwing an adult tantrum, I did not think to try...something to keep in mind if it happens again this year.
who is doing the bottle share this year and where? (NOT IT!)
Great thanks. Having my wedding in Michigan on 3/28 - so timing of release works out perfectly. Looking forward to it!
That was when they used the shoddy Brown Paper Tickets. Since they moved to Eventbrite, a provider that actually understands how to load balance, there haven't been issues.
I might make the trek this time....
@TastyDelicousness Hotel bottle share happening again? That was the best part of the weekend.
Went last year to the ticketed release and it was smooth as silk. Gonna give it a go again this year
You right...Funny follow up from Brown Paper Tickets; As an apology they offered some people $20 gift cards to Founders to those of us that took the time to complain via their customer service, but they made it very clear that you had to declare online vs. company store at the brewery. Wasn't sure when I'd be near the brewery again so I asked for an online gift certificate and they promptly sent me the opposite...but I guess I should've expected it.
Still have it too, keep forgetting it at home when I'm over there.
@TastyDelicousness @end_27 myself and a few others will definitely be putting on another bottle share again like we did last year. Since the date(s) were just announced today, we'll now start looking into a venue, time, google doc, etc...
1/all of us will be sure to post the updates in here once we get things figured out.
Rest assured, whether we get tickets or not, the bottle share will happen!
awesome!!! tried to book Spring Hill Suites but it was already booked full online ( I didn't call). Booked a room at the Hampton Inn that was right next door.
Maybe start there?
I just did the same so, yeah, what he said.
I'll be the first to remind people: "out of stock" does not mean sold out.
Excited to make the trip again! Even the wife wants to come this time around.
I assure you the bottle share will go on. My advice is to book a room in the area. I know last year some folks took taxis. That combined with Uber, we should be able to have plenty of drinks and have everyone get back to a hotel safe. In the upcoming days I'll try to get together with the other folks and get a game plan together. We do have some time until the share, so might not be in the next day
I just look forward to seeing some old friends and some new faces.
Cheers all and follow this thread so you can catch the updates.
My wife and I plan on getting tickets. We will age 8 trade 4 and drink 4 fresh.
Anyone know if I can get clarification on the one ticket per person thing.
Essentially, I'd like to purchase 4 tickets total. 1 for me and 3 for friends. I can put their names down and they can pick up their own beer when we all go.
Or is this like a 1 ticket per I.P. address/credit card or something type deal...?
One per person. Non-transferable.
In theory, you could use the same credit card for all 4... but yeah... good luck getting 4...
Still don't understand...Can I buy 4 and put 4 different names down?
No. They only allow you 1 at a time.
And the odds of going back and making the same purchase 3 more times with your friends' names... yeeaaa... not gonna happen.
Better tell each one of them to get on a computer and buy their own ticket if they really want to go.
Can't wait, it was a blast last year!
You can buy 4 different tickets, under 4 names, in 4 separate transactions. But the name you give them when buying the tickets must match the ID of the person picking up the beer.
@Lazhal This is all you need to know right here. The odds of you going through the ticket process 4 different times AND getting the same day each time is 0.0 (in Dean Wormer to Blutarsky voice).
im just hoping for more Panther Cub.
I'm so confused, so KBS Week is a week before the release of it? I don't remember this being the case last year. I just assumed it would be the week leading up to the Saturday party.
You are indeed confused.
March 9-13 then the party is Saturday March 14.
It's on tap at founders on Saturday 3/14. It's on tap at various locations around Grand Rapids from 3/10-3/13. Bottle pick up is 3/9-3/14 depending on what day you purchase.
Ok, when I first went to the link it was not fully updated and was showing part 2015 info and part 2014 info. Well looks like I know what I am doing on my bday
Any more details on the tasting yet?
Not yet. Things are in the works though, I promise. In the next week-two weeks, there will be a full write up on when, where, who, Google document, etc.
@saemick & @end_27 as well as myself will be together this weekend. We will discuss details about it and throw a post up here shortly.
Glad to see folks are excited about the tasting as much as they are KBS!!! Look forward to seeing all the old friends as well as some new faces this year!
Thats because KBS sucks ass but the tasting was pretty epic!
DAMN! Who pissed in your Cheerios this morning? I would ask you refrain from bad mouthing a good beer. If you wanted to do that, you have so many other options ie: FFF or PW just kidding....or am I??? dun dun duuuuuunnnnn
Look forward to seeing you at the share again
Im bringing Ninja VS Unicorn and Zombie Dust. Everyone will be pleased.
I will personally request you pay the $5 cover, I will then slap you with a glove like the gentleman that I am... and then have you to take that garbage out back where it belongs.
Can you at least bring some FFF or PW whales? Like an infected milk stout or a barrel aged lunch meat flavored beer.
