I agree. Especially when some of them got shut out in the first 3 seconds of clicking buy tickets, and had to wait in line until the tickets were sold out. (Yeah, I know, boohoo right?)

I got my 12 bottles at 3:10PM. They had at least 15 cases laying around that were visible to me in the gift shop at the time. I just spoke with my brother and he said it was gone by 4:30PM.

I also picked up a growler of Cheef IPA. I'm going to share that during the Final Four. Go State!

I find it hilarious that these posts were just over a half hour apart.

Anyone know if this has hit Woodman's in Wisconsin yet? Was thinking of hitting it up tomorrow.

I got it at both Hy-vee East and Woodman's East yesterday morning (in Madison)

Good point. But the KBS bottles sold at the Founders gift shop today were sold from 11:00AM to approximately 4:00PM. That supports what Mothergoose stated. Some folks believe that KBS flows in Michigan like water but it isn't the case. You have to be on top of your game to chase down KBS. I'm not aware of many, if any, shops where bottles were available more than a day.

I was lucky enough to score ten bottles of KBS from two bottle shops I've developed a bit of a relationship with the owners at here in Columbus. I've never had it before - so am curious is it better fresh or with some age? I'm definitely trying one this weekend to get the fresh taste, but am curious if I should keep the rest in my dedicated beer fridge or make a bit of an effort to drink them all in the relatively near term?

I prefer to drink beers with coffee added fresh. I know Goose Island recommends drinking BCBS Coffee fresh so I do that with KBS as well.

My local beer shop says he is getting his cases today of KBS here in Cleveland and he will hold some in the back room for me. I hope to at least get two bottles, but maybe he will sell a whole 4/6 pack, whatever it comes in usually?

I am excited to try KBS, but at the same time not expecting too much. I can't get excited for BBA stuff, regardless of who makes it. But we shall see if this changes my mind!

First of all KBS is very easy to find in MI. One of my friends didn't get tickets as he was on a flight at the time of the release and is easily over a case right now. And no he didn't buy 24 bottles at $7.50 a pop.

Also KBS trades $4$ locally with almost anything that is non state of MI distro, it can be had easily and there is plenty of it.

@mjshearer1 I was thinking that exact same thing when I read that post this morning my friend, cheers!!

A beer that is easy to find is one that you can randomly go to a store without any planning ahead of time and find the beer you are looking for. Getting over a case of KBS would most likely require chasing down trucks, checking social media/BA constantly, and having connections with local store owners/managers. At least that's like my opinion, man.

I agree with this assessment. I'm sure there are communities in MI that may have had KBS more readily available/easier to obtain in large quantities, but I can tell you in my GR suburb, EVERY store had a reserve list, 1-4 bottle limit, and/or was sold out in a matter of hours.

Yeah, what small-time community does your buddy live in where he can easily score a case and at less (I'm assuming you mean less) than $7.50/bottle? Must be the sticks somewhere cause in GR, Lansing and Metro Detroit it vanished - limits at all places I saw (I scoped a lot of places).

He lives in Hudsonville. Apparently you didn't hit most of the Family Fare stores in and around GR that were selling 4pks for $25. It did not "vanish" in and around GR, there has been more than plenty to go around.

How much was Woodman's charging? Singles or 4-packs? Last year I remember it being $18ish

Woodmans was only slightly cheaper than Hy-Vee at $21 and change. Hy-Vee was $22 and change. Looks like it got more expensive this year. :slight_frown:
