KBS Week!

Naahhh, I think we'd all rather line up around the building in -30 wind chills.

 

i got a saturday ticket. really not looking forward to how crazy founder's will be on saturday but it was the only day I could manage a trip to grand rapids.

 

Absolutely agree! Of course, I lucked out and got a ticket...
All that said, it's as fair as it can get and Founders deserves credit for their efforts.

 

Founders sent out an email to all ticket buyers to explain the details of the pickup. The confirmation emails had incorrect info on it. The day you bought tickets for is correct. The limit is 3 4-packs per ticket @ $20 a 4 pack. Pick up from Noon til 9PM EST everyday.

 

I went Saturday last year and it wasn't bad at all. They sold the bottles out of a separate door on the north side of their facility. I'm guessing they will use the same area again this year. And you can knock down a KBS or two while you are there. I got there at approximately 3:00PM last year. I waited in line outside for about 30 minutes and then finally got in. My brother and I had to sit outside because all the seats were full inside. But Founders has their fires and heating units placed just right outside so that you won't freeze your ass off.

 

They are a class act all the way!

 

I'll be making the trek on Friday by myself and was looking to stop at O'Toole's or Last Chance to try the KBS before heading back. Any locals or frequent GR visitors able to provide a recommendation between the two? (based on food and the level of chaos each expect to be operating at)

 

I'm assuming it'll be on draft at founders. .

 

I don't think it goes on at Founders until Saturday. I'm pretty sure that's how they did it last year and that's what they're advertising this year.

 

Asked Founder's, they said no KBS on tap at the tap room til Saturday.

 

They do so much right with the KBS release, except for this.

 

I think they are spreading the love around the city and trying to pump up some local bars.

Last year a buddy and me were working in lansing and go tickets for Tuesday. We go our bottles and tried to go to one of the bars and it was a shit show. We went back to Founders and got Panther Cub and a couple other one off stuff.

I don't think you will be disappointed going to the brewpub during the week.

 

of course not but I love the consistent prices at founders. .

 

First time since 2010 that I won't be getting bottles at the brewery which is sad, but it is what the craft beer world has become. I am still driving out there for KBS Day, and will likely get bent over from local stores for 1 or 2 bottles charging over 2x what Founders does, but it is what it is.

 

So when will this see distro? Probably starting the Monday afterwards?

 

KBS will be available throughout Michigan beginning on Monday, March 16, and throughout the rest of our footprint beginning on Monday, March 30. - according to their website

 

Wondering if anyone recalls from past years how soon after KBS week did Founder's have bottles (of KBS) for sale at the brewery?

The day after (Sunday)?
The following Monday?

 

Don't believe they had ANY for sale last year..unless people didn't pick up their reserved ones.
