I'm sorry, I don't. North of KC is my kryptonite, I'm not super familiar with that area. Sounds like you got some solid advice below though. Good luck.

I'm hoping to pick one up myself while in town next month!

City Barrel Brewing Company is another that should be on the KC radar. Opening in the Crossroads later this year. Their model will apparently focus heavily on hazy ipas and BA sours. They've been doing small releases via ticketed pop ups, usually on first Fridays, until they're up and running. Could be a pretty exciting addition to the KC scene.

Woah. I'll definitely try to keep my finger on the pulse there. I haven't been great about keeping up with new breweries, both those that have opened and those in the planning stages.

It sure would be nice to have a consistent BA sour and hazy IPA producer. At this point, I'd say BKS is the only one producing hazy IPAs with more regularity beyond 3 times a year. Competition can be good.

Couldn't agree more with that. I've gotten to try their beers on a couple occasions and been very impressed both times. Noble AF was my favorite IPA.

That's awesome to hear! Just from what I've heard and read on their social media, their space sounds like its going to fit perfectly in that part of town. I've had a can of Peachy AF, which was solid, and I'm sharing a can of Blush (sour) this evening. I'm excited to try it.

Thanks for letting us know about Bryants. Best BBQ I have ever had but I am from Buffalo. Carried the food to Torn Label what a funky joint. Thought the beer was OK.

You guys were right about Garrison. Went for lunch, would not go again. Enjoyed the sour experience at Crane. Food was a plus at Brewery Emperial. Tried 1 beer there and could not finish it.

Cinderblock today was the best brewery we hit on the trip. Did Strouds for dinner & had one boulevard, that was enough for me.
Thanks for all your help boys. You ever get to Buffalo NY, hit me up.

will be in KC in a couple of weeks for Texans Chiefs game. Based on this thread looks like BKS is the best in show and the must stop. From the 2nd tier of breweries, whose making anything worthwhile? Any Sunday spots open up early on Sunday to grab a pre-game beer/ Thank you everyone in advance!

My in-laws live in KC so I get there a decent amount. I like the Torn Label and City Barrel pair as they are both in walking distance of each other. I've only been to City Barrel once, but it was good.

Boulevard is cool, but usually pretty crowded. They have some stuff that doesn't get distributed. Alma Mader is right around the corner from there.

Strange Days is decent, and will for sure be open early Sunday as they put the Premier League games on. I've always had a good time there.

figured might as well check out the boulevard space and try out some of their in house beers. Appreciate the feedback. Will check these out.

Somebody local may be more help, but not really from what I've found. The street car is free though, and heads up to River Market where Strange Days is located and also down to Crossroads where there are several breweries.

Greetings! I'll be in town next week primarily for a bachelor party on Fri & Sat, but I'm sticking around an extra day w/my brother-in-law so we can go to Arrowhead for the Chiefs/Colts game on SNF. Thus, I have a few beer and football questions for Sunday.

    Beer

    * Ideally we'd like to find a place or two on Sunday morning/afternoon with some great beers, food, and the early NFL games on TV. It seems as though the vast majority of breweries are concentrated north of where we'll be staying (Courtyard KC Country Club) in the Crossroads area - do a few of those places come to mind? Alternatively, would Flying Saucer, Int'l Tap House, or Yard House be a better bet? Any of the breweries in this area a "must-visit"?
    * Is BKS really the cream of the crop in terms of KC breweries? Trying to weigh a visit there at some point on Sunday if I can't sneak there on Fri/Sat.

    Football

    * Is there craft beer to be found in the stadium (our seats in section 310)?
    * Is the Ford Tailgate worth visiting before the game? Any other tailgate/pre-game suggestions?
    * Has anyone used ZTrip before? We don't have it in Boston, just Uber/Lyft. It seems as though ZTrip is the best rideshare service for football games given it can drop off/pickup closer to the stadium.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions. Cheers!

You should check out Alma Mader on SW Boulevard, just down the street from Boulevard Brewing. Their brewer has spent time with Boulevard, Crooked Stave, and Fremont. They seem to focus on hazy hops and lagers. I muled some crowlers back home to Chicago a few weeks ago and they were legit IPAs.

I'm coming in for the Texans game as well and plan to be at BKS some time on the Saturday before.

I haven't been to a home game yet this season (there's only been 1), but last season I found nothing but InBev products on both the lower and upper levels. Not sure about the club level.

I can't comment on the Ford Tailgate as I've never been. You could always bring some beers with you, be cool, and try and latch onto someone's tailgate. It's a huge party in a parking lot. I've hung out with strangers many a time there.

RE ZTrip: I've never taken one, but from what I've read on a Chiefs board I participate on, it's a good option for getting to the game, it's leaving that becomes a challenge. I've heard of up to 2 hour wait times trying to leave the stadium using ZTrip.

Thanks @KCUnited, much appreciated! You think ZTrip is the way to go to get to the game, and then maybe Uber leaving?

Anyone else want to share their thoughts? Sunday is fast approaching. Thanks!

I don't want to talk in absolutes as I've never taken zTrip or Uber to Arrowhead, just relaying what I've been told by others.

Keep in mind that rideshares drop and pick up outside the stadium. It's not a terrible walk but there is a hill to navigate so probably not ideal for anyone with mobility issues or in wet weather. Also, I'm told leaving the game via rideshare can be a cluster as well since it's a shared pickup lot, so it sounds like a pick your poison decision.

Arrowhead is a great stadium but they don't make it easy if you don't have a car. That goes for KC in general really.
