I'm headed for a long weekend in Killington tomorrow, what should I be on the lookout for? I enjoy basically every style, so any suggestions work. Thanks in advance!

    Cheers!

The new peak lodge is probably the sickest place to drink a beer in the state! They have Long Trail Limbo in bottles (super juicy double IPA). Most places there have Shed Mountain Ale (tasty brown ale). Stop at Long Trail Brewery if you get a chance. Most importantly, enjoy the chronicles of GNARnia. The skiing is incredible.

I usually head to the Mad River/ Montpelier area when I go to VT and there is endless amazing beer in that area if you feel like venturing out, Lawsons, Hill Farmstead and Alchemist beers on tap all over. The closest thing I could recommend near Killington is The Worthy Burger in South Royalton (50 mins). Great draft beer local and otherwise as well as some pretty amazing wood fired burgers. You're not too far from Harpoon either which is a nice stop.

Lawsons Finest Liquids and Hill Farmstead are my favorite VT brewers that you can only find in the state. Lot's of other great small brewers out there though, Fiddlehead, Foley Brothers etc. Even Otter Creek and Long Trail have stepped their game up so you should have no trouble finding great, fresh, local beer while you're there. Enjoy your trip, cheers.

I don't know how much driving we're going to be doing once we reach Killington, it's already a 6 or so hour drive. I've been up to the area plenty of times, I just haven't been keeping up with new offerings from the breweries. Long Trail has always been a go to, the Limbo sounds great. I guess I'm looking for the more readily available stuff.

Limbo is pretty readily available - at least in VT. I find it in local grocery stores all the time.

The new otter creek offerings are very good as well. Kind Ryed, Citra Mantra, and I presume Fresh Slice. Their Black ipa is quite good as well.

I'm probably gonna have to jump on Citra Mantra, I've been interested for a little while now.

Better hurry, OCB's summer seasonals (Vermont Lager & Fresh Slice White IPA) are coming out in 2 weeks, so the spring seasonals will be harder to find after the end of the month.

Yeah! It's summer! Wait a minute...

Gotta have some Fiddlehead and Limbo from LT is a must. Switchback if you need a break form Hop Overload.

I also second the Otter Creek Citra Mantra.

LongTrail for lunch, Jonas wings are a must. Beer at the brewery seems to cost more than in stores? Why is that? I would think it would be a little cheaper.

FWIW: Citra Mantra is still pretty easily found all over Philly. I'd say score that when you get home.

Maybe too late to the game here, but great timing snow-wise. Realize your looking for more readily available stuff, but if you have any interest sniffing out some of the harder to find stuff, here ya go...
-I've heard the bar Jax has had Heady Topper available in the past if that is your thing, not sure if that is still the case.
-One beer I'm on the hunt for is from a local brewery called Northshire, and their offering called Sicilian Pale Ale.
-if you can find Backacre Beermakers Golden Sour pick up a bottle.
Agree with AJ, grab a beer at top of K1...probably best view of any bar in New England...
Not sure your route to get to Killington, but if coming from the west, stop at Terrell St. Beverage in Rutland and bring some growlers. With any luck, they'll have some offerings from Zero Gravity and Fiddlehead on tap there. You can call ahead.
