So I'm in the market for a kegerator. I plan on just one trap for half barrels. I found a used true brand on craigslist for 450. He says he's had it for 2 years buy it looks more worn than that. It could a Shay be just being in the garage for 2 years. I've done research on entry level vs commercial level kegerators.what would some of the warning signs be when buying a used one? It definitely looks like a deal but I don't want to waste 450 if I could pay a little more and get an entry level summit or similar kegerator. I'll attach a pic. [IMG]

Basically what I'm asking you guys is do you think 450 is a good enough price to risk on a commercial unit or would I be better off getting an entry level unit for 500-600ish? He said hell plug it in before I come so I'll know it works and gets cold.

That unit is older than two years.. Ask him for serial number and call true , they will tell you how old . If it gets cold , and maintains temp below 38F maybe $300 looks pretty rough. If gonna look at it ask seller to put a 5 gal bucket of water in it day prior set tstat for (7)and show up with a good digital therm and test water temps.
