I got a kegerator a few months back for Christmas and the 5lbs CO2 will not stay full. I have leaked tested it and there are no signs of any leaking of CO2 anywhere. The CO2 tank will allow me to pour beer for 2 - 3 days. Then all it all stops and when I check out the CO2 tank it is all gone. Last time I had it filled they could only get 2.5lbs in the 5lbs tank.

Anyone have any idea as to what might be happening and now to fix it?

When you say you leak tested it, what did you do? Sounds like you have a leak to me.

I used soapy water and there were no signs of any bubbles on any of the lines or connections.

Run the pressure up to 45 and try that test again. You clearly have a leak somewhere, it's a closed system so it has to be going somewhere. The higher pressure will aggravate it and you may even be able to hear it.

How did you know the tank was empty? Note the tare weight embossed on the tank (look for 'TW') That's the weight of the empty tank. If it weighs more than that, then it's not empty.
+1 on increasing the pressure. You'll find more leaks far more easily this way.

Or you could buy a co2 detector for $620.... :grinning:

I found the problem. I ran the pressure up to around 45 and it still did not fine it when I put soapy water on the lines and fittings. While the pressure was on I move the keg out and heard it. The tube connecting to the connector of the keg connector did not have a clam on it. The kegerator when purchase did not have one in the box, which I thought was odd. When the keg was moved is when the line moved and I heard it. I guess the link was so slow even turning up the pressure link testing it did not show a link. I did not think about moving the line inside when testing as my thoughts were if it is linking I need to see it as it is. The inside never moves. I put a clam on it and has worked ever since without lost of pressure.

    Thanks for assistant.
