    Hi All,

I have a fairly new kegerator (6 or so months old) that I've had no issues with. Recently I bought a new keg (Revolution Fistmas Ale) and refilled my c02 tank. After I replaced the co2 the faucet now "burps" every time I pour a beer and then exclusively dispenses foam.

I attempted to clean the lines today with a gravity cleaning kit I've used before. This time it was extremely difficult as the solution would not flow unless I aggressively squeezed the bottle and even then there was a very slow flow.

I've had plenty of kegs and this is the first time anything like this has happened and now the keg is useless. Is it possible the faucet is clogged?

Please let me know if I can answer any additional questions! Thank you for all your help!

    Adam

Adam, it sounds like the keg is over carbonated. How does it taste? It may have gone into a secondary fermentation in the keg or be infected.

Disconnect your CO2 boottle. Bleed some (a considerable amount) of the CO2 off the top of the keg and let it sit for a day in the kegerator. Then reconnect and try it.

You may have to do this several times to get the excess carbonation out of the keg. If it persists, return the keg. This happens frequently to brewers and I've heard them ask several times what the issue is with their process.

You shouldn't be running more than maybe 5 to 10 PSI to the keg, at least that is how my system is set up.

It tastes very flat to be honest. Thanks for the tip. I will give it a shot!

The other possibility is that you are not properly balanced (temperature, volumes of CO2 for the beer, applied pressure) and have just been lucky thus far.

Sounds like a bad seal, most likely at the probe. I highly doubt the keg is over carbonated, if it were it would be pouring fast, not slow. You have low pressure being caused by an incomplete seal which is highly evidenced by your cleaning bottle not working well either.

It is either the probe seal or the seal on the bottom of the tapping device that is either missing or worn out.

Thanks Guys! It turned out to be a bad keg. Changed it out with a new one and the issue was solved!
