Hello everyone, I am looking for a kegerator system for homebrewing. What systems do you all have and would suggest for a first time owner?
I have a full fridge that I turned into a kegerator. My advice is to build it yourself, as it can be had for 1/2 the cost of a pre-built.
Depends on your budget and what your looking for. Kegerator, conversion, keezer? This is like saying I'm looking for a car. What you recommend?
If looking for a standard real deal kegerator I would recommend on the high commercial end the bev air.. If under a budget then summit is my unit of choice. If you were looking to spend $300 don't bother waisting your money on any unit..
http://www.learntobrew.com/store/item/2verl/-_HB_Tower/Two_Tap_Tower_Mount_Homebrew_Kegerator.html I bought that kit over a year ago and used it to convert my mini fridge from college, into a kegerator. I've been happy with it, and I couldn't find anything better for the price. I'd go with the perlick faucets upgrade too.
Can you fit two 1/6 or corny kegs in a mini fridge with room for the regulator, CO2 tank and gas line?
Depends on the brand, I have a Haier and it can hold three sixths with the CO2 inside. Haier, Marvel, Kegco and Summit all make mini fridge kegerators that can hold three sixths. http://www.beveragefactory.com/draftbeer/kegerators/triplekegerator/index.shtml
I can fit a lot in my mini fridge, it's a kenmore, built in 1998 I think. It's a bit larger than most, I can fit 2 corny kegs and a 5# CO2 tank in it easily. But I have my CO2 tank on the outside, so I can fit 3 corny kegs in it if I need to. I was thinking about adding another tap. It just really depends on the mini fridge, I lucked out on mine.
Sorry to revive an old thread - i was looking at the haier 3 tap model and it says it can only fit 3 corny's not 3 sixths. If you can fit the 3 sixths im assuming that the information is incorrect there?
Where are you looking? I got mine from Beverage Factory and at the time they showed it held 3. I have only had two in at a time. A friend at work has the same one and always has three commercial kegs in it. To do it you need a block of wood to lift the front keg above the door lip. Maybe they got sick of providing the block of wood and changed the spec so they didn't have to?
http://www.beveragefactory.com/draf...or/Haier_Cabinet_Triple_Faucet_Kegerator.html Thats the one i was looking at but the dimensions of all of them on that site look the same. I have no problem propping it up so if thats all it takes i'm game. Thanks
