A few days ago I brewed a NEIPA with the intentions of taking it on a guys weekend trip. I usually don't bother bottling as I've got a few kegs of different sizes hanging around. As we'll be staying up in the mountains at an airbnb, I won't have access to a kegerator to properly dispense the beer. Has anyone had any experience with using any kind of systems meant to take kegs to tailgates, etc? I would rather get something that has CO2 instead of a normal tap to pump oxygen into my beer, slowly ruining it over the course of the weekend. I was looking at this setup as a potential solution but was curious if it's worth the money.

That's a simple set up that I'd imagine you could rig up yourself if you're already kegging. It will be foamy, you'll have to deal with that, and you'll probably have to serve it a little colder than usual to fight that, but it would save your beer if you're not going to kick the keg. On the other hand, I've been on plenty of camping trips where we just used a standard air pump and it wasn't an issue because... there was no beer left!!!

Are you planning to only dispense beer in/near the cabin/house/room, or do you want something truly portable? If the former, I'd recommend just taking a small (5# or less) CO2 tank with your regulator and a picnic tap. Keep the keg in the fridge if it'll fit, otherwise throw it in an ice bucket. Alternatively, filling several growlers or even bottles from the tap before you leave home isn't a terrible idea.

I don't have any experience with more portable draft solutions, but unless this is the type of thing you plan to do often, I'm not sure it would be worth the money. Hopefully people here will chime in with actual experiences.

Edit: Oops. Looks like the link you attached is exactly what I recommended. I'd just buy a picnic tap and a length of tubing plus the fittings and use your existing tank and regulator, though.

I believe they have even more more portable systems than that, though, that use small paintball style CO2 cartridges with tiny regulators. I'd look into something like that if you want to drop more than ~$20.

I was planning on only serving at the cabin. I was thinking finding a solution to be able to take kegs to outdoor events like barbecues, tailgates, and events not hosted at my house would definitely be worthwhile. I've got a few 10L kegs so they're small and mobile enough to be very useful.

Looking at some prices of things online, it looks like I could probably get it cheaper by buying some pieces and doing it myself and reusing most of what's already in the kegerator but it would be kind of nice to have a separate setup to use for occasions like this.

I have sanke kegs so I'm not sure if this would work. Could I just hook it onto the gas side of the coupler?
