So I am taking the plunge on getting a kegerator. My aunt is selling me her Kenmore kegerator (model #91509990). I have been doing a bunch of reading on getting a kegerator set up and balanced so i feel i have a firm grasp on that. What i do have a question about is I have read that the Kenmore Kegerator is a rebranded Summit/Sanyo or a Haier? Can anyone tell me if this is true and or if the Kenmore kegerators are any good? I have also done some reading on the mods that will probably need done to get this thing running at peak performance. I am already looking into a tower cooler and i had my eyes on this one...any thoughts? www.ebay.com/itm/Kegerator-Beer-Tower-Cooler-Tap-Cooler-Fan-Kit-compatible-with-Danby-other-/130871467613 I appreciate any help and Cheers!!!
If it's at least 4.5cu ft I say go for it. That's generally the smallest you'll want to go and be able to have a sixth on tap, at least.
The Kenmore unit is currently 4.9 CuFt and it is not made by Summit or Haier. The unit is a bit small for 1/2 barrels but does cool well and is quiet. The tapping equipment is a gamble depending on when the unit was originally purchased. Formerly American made commercial equipment is now being copied in China and included with newer units.
I couldn't find many photos but from http://www.searspartsdirect.com/ken...ler-parts/model-56491509990/0582/0169000.html it appears to be the same as mine and I can easily fit 2 1/6th barrels and the CO2 tank inside or two tall 1/4 barrels with the tank inside as well. It'll also fit 1 1/2 with the CO2 tank inside.
