Brett =/= Sour. If a Brett beer is showing sour/tart characteristics it's infected or not a Brett only beer.

My buddy and I each opened up a bottle of b vs b and both got strong balsamic taste and no fruit. This is my first Kent Falls brew and I was let down for sure. I'm hoping it was just two "off" bottles

Heard they were going to bottle Shruggie soon

Equinox, Solstice, 2016 and Dekkera blew me away. Just unreal. So clean.

The Kent Falls/Grimm collab that was released recently is phenomenal. If you're into the dry hopped sour thing, definitely try to hunt a bottle down.

I finally had a clean IPA of theirs last night, "Haircuts for Everybody," and dammit if it wasn't one of the most unique, well-crafted, and DAAAANK IPAs I've ever had. You don't need big ABV for big flavor.

Haircuts was crazy, it somehow embodied that same light and elegant character that's in KF's saisons, but with clean yeast and dank herbal/pineapple-y hops. I know they're bottling the brett version of that this week, but I need clean Kent Falls IPAs in bottles or cans ASAP.

The Bretted version, which I'm sure will be a great addition to the base beer, ships out this week. I'm a store manager/beer buyer, so I get the early scoop.

I asked Barry about that at the farmer's market and he said they have no current plans to bottle Shruggie. Apparently they were just patenting the label for potential future use and people overreacted.....but who knows for sure.

Probably happening sooner or later. Guessing they aren't in a rush to put beers with a much shorter shelf life out in distro and will probably want to see how well their bottled clean IPAs sell at their own retail shop first.

My camera struggles in low light settings, but the beer was too tasty to waste time screwing around with lights and stuff. It's billed as a brett IPA, but the brett is super subtle. I'm pretty sure this is just a bottling of Haircuts for Everybody on brett-infected equipment, which is perfectly fine by me. This is the closest thing to a straightforward IPA that Kent Falls has bottled.

Isn't this the natural evolution of the current beer scene? Every local market gets its own overpriced, local farm brewery that requires you to justify buying local/fresh, buying off the shelf but probably not as fresh, or traveling to another similar but superior brewery hours away?

Price has certainly caused me to pass on their brews. It's hard to pull the trigger on Kent Falls, Singlecut, & Maine in this format when there are so many great options out there. I love to see KF beers on tap though because they are always new and interesting to me.

What happened with Blueberry vs Blackberry? I was really anticipating that, but wow, I just looked at the reviews and :grimacing:

I had it on draft twice in the span of 3 or 4 days. The first time it was okay if underwhelming but the second one was an acetic mess. It honestly reminded me a bit of My Blueberry Nightmare batch 2, which was one of the worst beers I've ever had. It would be a pity if some of the same issues that have plagued their clean IPAs recently have spilled over to the rest of their offerings.

Does anyone know if the farm brewery is dog friendly? Didn't find any info regarding this on their website. Thanks.

Was there today...saw a sign that said "no dogs". We just left ours in the car with the windows down while we grabbed our bottles since it was so nice out.

There were a lot of bad bottles. I had it on draft twice and it was fantastic. There were bottles that were basically vinegar though.

Also, look at who reviewed it. The bottom two shared what would appear to be a lousy bottle. Can't use BA reviews any more because no one reviews beer these days. Everyone uses untappd for that. Holds a 4.07 on Untappd. Pretty high.

Seems like it's something that took some time. Got a bottle from the first release of it but held off on drinking it and while it was a bit acetic and overcarbonated (gushed all over my table when I went to get a glass), it wasn't intensely so.

Others who opened theirs early on loved it. Lately though most people I've seen cracking it have pretty consistently reported that it's heavily acetic.

Similarly lightning fields was great early on but a lot of infected bottles have been popping up lately.

I'm not so sure time is a factor. There were three bottles shared from the same batch at OEC 2nd Anniversary and two were fine. Third was vinegar.
