What is considered the appropriate BeerAdvocate sytle listing for a beer considered a Kentucky Common, that is sour mashed?

Cream Ale? American Brown Ale? American Wild Ale?

Well since no response on this, I went ahead and entered under "American Wild Ale", since the beer description said it included some wild yeast in addition to being sour mashed.

Well, the only one that I can think of off the top of my head is Fullsteam's The Common Good and it is listed as American Wild Ale.

I just went to check this one, since I remembered drinking it. The one you linked I hadn't reviewed, which I thought was odd. Then I found that the beer has two listings (the other one http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/17981/108231/).
Both are listed under "American Brown Ale", though I think on the CCB board it was filed under "Kentucky Common", as they're not constrained to the BA styles.

Taken from the BJCP guidelines (updated for 2015):
"Comments: Modern characterizations of the style often mention a lactic sourness or sour mashing, but extensive brewing records from the larger breweries at the turn of the century have no indication of long acid rests, sour mashing, or extensive conditioning. This is likely a modern homebrewer invention, based on the supposition that since indigenous Bourbon distillers used a sour mash, beer brewers must also have used this process. No contemporaneous records indicate sour mashing or that the beer had a sour profile; rather the opposite, that the beer was brewed as an inexpensive, present- use ale. Enter soured versions in American Wild Ale."

So if it was sour mashed, I'd say you put it in the right category, and the CCB (both listings) should probably be changed.

I do wish we could do something about the number of duplicate (or triplicate) beer listings…but that's fodder for another thread.

Please submit updates for the 2 CCB beers and those will be handled.

Duplicates/Triplicates/etc will be handled at some point in the future when the tools being developed are available to the Site Editors, in the meantime please feel free to submit the updates on the duplicates.
