Anyone want to bring a couple of these down to the HotD 20th Anniversary Party?
Will this release hit distribution or is it brewery only?
Limited bottleshops (perhaps elsewhere, too) per Twitter.
Hey, thanks for asking. Another generous Washington beer drinker/geek has already grabbed a couple of bottles for me. I am at session #2, so please come raise a beer with me!
Would love to. But session one.
I had a chance to try this on tap @ the UBG this evening, and promptly bought two more bottles as a result of that $8 goblet. It's very, very good this year, tons of bourbon and chocolate and a lot more body than last year. I'll go out on a limb and say it's Parabola good.
A buddy of mine lives pretty close to the UBG, any idea on when this will sell out? I'm hoping to get him to grab me a couple bottles.
They had multiple sealed cases out on the floor today, didn't seem to be selling very fast even though the line to the counter was never less than about a dozen people. To be safe, I'd say ask him to get over there in the next couple days if possible. I was surprised to see they hadn't sold out already, considering how fast Cowiche went (although, $4.75 + 4-bottle limit vs. $15 + 2-bottle limit explains a lot of that)...
I saw it at Whole Foods, $17.99/bottle.
Thanks for the info, I also noticed they have it on draft. Do they do growler fills? I'd assume if they were doing fills they would limit to 32oz.
No growler fills.
And the fact that many, many more people enjoy pale ales/IPAs than bourbon barrel aged imperial stouts.
I got you if you get shut out Matt
No longer on tap at the UBG. Bummer.
Thanks Libbey, I appreciate it.
Had it on tap on Friday and picked up another bottle. Just a fantastic beer.
I noticed that it has been renamed to its new name on BA, but it still shows as 9.5% and there are no vintage notes indicating the abv/name history. Has anyone already submitted additional notes like these?
I submitted the name update, but that was it. I think I offered to submit a new photo since the label/name has changed, but I haven't done that yet. You're probably right, notes about the name history and ABV would probably be useful additions.
Anyone know if bottles are still available at Fremont's tasting room as of today (Monday the 14th)? I think I need to pick up a few more ...
According to their website:
Like A Streaking Star...Going Fast: Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark StarBottles are available at the brewery for $15 per bottle, two bottle limit per day.
But to be safe before you go: 206-420-2407
420 24/7. Better toke, then call.
Oh and to be clear, that last line with the phone number was my little embellishment. I'm just saying, you know, you should probably call them.
I'm at the UBG now. Picked up another 2 bottles and was told their allocation is 160 cases. They've sold 100 cases in 6 days. So that leaves 60 cases.
Hmmm. 160 - 100 = 60. I think that's right. I've never really been good at math.
I'm in the seattlle area, and was wondering if anybody knows where to get one?
At the brewery.
I find that if you take away the zeroes, it makes the computation easier.
OK. 16 - 1 = 15. Only 15 more cases. I better get there on the double. There's less than I thought!
So Fremont just tweeted that they are making 250 barrels of BBomb for 2014. Seems like a ton, anyone remember how many cases per barrel?
Dang, back to this math thing. All I know is 53 gallons per barrel.
So 5.8 22oz beers per gallon, 307 bottles per barrel, and 76.5k bottles total. So much for rare beer in Washington.
I'm bad at math too, but I think 250 barrels is more than a ton.
Math and beer coexist poorly.
We are filling 150 bourbon barrels for 2014 Bbomb and 100 barrels for 2014 KDS or BBADS. 22oz bottle equivalent depends on how much we lose to the Angels Share and draft allocation but it's roughly 1500 and 1000 cases respectively. In beer terms it's a " bigassfuckload"
Thank you. I much prefer BAFL of awesome beer than rare awesome beer.
Yeah, we don't do RARE. We do BAFL. I like that. Nothing to drink here...now move along
So... when should we expect to see BAFL on tap?
You know you want to name a beer that.
Oh HELL yes!
Looking for a mule. Only need 2 or 3 bottles. Will PayPal the cash with a little sumthin extra.
I got you J.
