So what is citra going for? Id love to land a bottle, but dont want to deplete my cellar for it. Ive seen people offer some pretty sought after beers for it...

I traded a 4 pk of FBS for one Citra after the latest release.

People want an arm and a leg for it now...

The trading forum is now all about FT: Good Not That Rare Beer / ISO: Very Hard to Find Whale

I'll trade you 2 bottles, but I wont deplete your cellar. I'd leave you a least a few bottles to drown your sorrows with after trading a shit ton of bottles of amazing beer, for 2 bottles of just as equally amazing beer.

I just traded a bottle plus some other goodies for a 4 pack of Founders imperial stout and a couple other bottles. It all came out to equal $4$ though in the end.

You inferring that Citra is a whale isn't exactly helping your cause.

Except I didn't call it a whale. Citra was the FT in my comment.

It prob trades for what it is. Brewery only 1380 bottle IPA release is where you can start.

I had an opportunity to try a bottle of Citra this weekend at a great tasting in Baltimore. While Citra was good, I wasn't blown away. I'm glad I haven't traded for it as I don't think it's worth what a lot of people are asking for it.

seriously! Some of those ISOs were incredibly outrageous.
That's the one thing I miss about no replies in that forum, you dont know if any of that foolishness actually got completed.(or the ability to call someone out about blatantly lying about how much a beer costs them)

I traded 7 of them, and they all went $4$.

Ive traded 2x Citra for a beats5, 1x for an Abyss twice, 2x for a bcbs bomber and bcbs 12oz, and 1x for a westy 12.

I traded a Dark Lord for 2 Citras, and got a Just Outstanding as an extra. Glad I tried the Citra and Just Outstanding, but I probably won't be trading for either any time soon.

FWIW it was with a regular trading partner

The previous two sound very reasonable. However, most of the ISOs I have seen have been borderline ludicrous (blabaer, ba dl's, etc). Say what you will about the commenting function in the trade forums, but these type of posts have increased dramatically since it was disabled.

    Nice stuff, nothing crazy.

Just because people post crazy ISOs, does not mean they are making it happen.

Oh I know, but when the comment function was in play, we didn't have as many of those ISO's clogging up the works.

^This^ times ten. Please bring the comments back, a community with no self regulation is, well, unregulated and leads to crazy.

I agree that the ISO:FT forum is getting clogged up by plenty of trades that appear ludicrous to me.

    BUT:

If those ludicrous trades are not getting done, isn't that an example of a community regulating itself?

Its regulating behind the scenes. Just seems like the open comments and flow of conversation keeps the ISO:FT in line. I've seen way more nutty posts since the change. I also think it helps newer uses learn much quicker what to expect, or not expect, in terms of trade value, and makes the whole trading community more straight forward.
