Hey fellow BAs! I checked the Fresh Beer Only site* and it says the dates are on the cases only but I found this on the bottom of a JO bomber: 15/22S/006/14/09:30 I'm wondering if anyone can decode it for me. Thanks in advance! *If you aren't familiar with this site, check it out--it's a must! I suggest you bookmark it ASAP. If you have a better or even comparable site, let us know about it below.
You know, it's never been an issue as I always chug back my JO and Citra too fast to even wonder about the freshness.
Same here, but I just bought this bottle a couple days ago and noticed the code on the bottom. Tasted great; just wondering.
We did not put that code on the bottle. Must have something to do with the bottle lot number. We still just hand date the case.
I'm curious why a thread like this would get locked? I'm sure plenty of others are curious about the next batch of Citra. http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/next-batch-of-kern-citra.179964/ can anyone explain the logic? I thought this was a site to discuss all things beer?
I agree. I was about to post in it with somewhat useful information when I realized it was locked. A new batch is about to be ready for Firestone Walker Invitational, but it wont be bottled. It will more than likely have a couple of kegs on draft at the brewery in the next week or two. If it follows the same sort of planning as last year, the next bottling of Citra will be around late October.
Yeah, the idea that we can just "ask the breweries" applies to maybe 80% of topics on this website. As demonstrated above me, sometimes the community can answer these just fine or offer input and discussion.
