Kern River Brewing (2020)

Ordered my Citra. Fingers crossed it ships tomorrow according to the above.

 

GLS just picked up, so we are on schedule for a Saturday delivery

 

Heard from a local source who’s at the source in Kernville that Citra 2020 is very good! That sounds like good news. Looking forward to tomorrow’s drop. Bring it on.

 

I miss the brewpub trip, but looking forward to some Citra tomorrow!

 

Question regarding canning date. @KRBCEric my recent purchase of Camp Nelson and Space Tuber cans the can date was the small white sticker on top of the brown can holder. But my purchase of Kern cans before that the canning date was stamped clearly on the bottom of the can. I thought the new way you guys were going was the date stamped at the bottom. That one was an online order.

 

Package delivered. 3rd time from KRBC. 3rd time great packaging and exceptional job by Tamera Dobbs/KRBC for services. Looking forward to this new Citra batch. One note. Old style dates on top of can holder.

 

My package landed a couple hours ago. I haven’t got home to opening it yet. Looking forward to getting these in the fridge for tonight.

 

Our new date coder had a part fail. Still under warranty, so we hope it is fixed soon

 

I just poured myself a flight of Camp Nelson, Citra and Shuttle Bunny. All three are fantastic. I’m honestly surprised at my ranking:
1) Camp Nelson
2) Shuttle Bunny
3) Citra

It was 50/50 as to whether I would prefer Citra or Nelson so no surprise that I enjoyed Nelson more but Shuttle Bunny outranking Citra was shocking to me. It had a better hop bite then Citra. Classic west coast fashion. But like I said, all 3 are fantastic.

 

dammit... GLS tracking has had "out for delivery" status since 10am. Starting to lose hope. was excited for some Citra tonight.

 

That’s unfortunate. Sorry to hear it. But if it’s any consolation, the beers are fantastic.

 

Did you get SB online or at local? Asking to see how fresh the cans are. Last time they canned the Bunny was a month and half out I believe.

 

I got it online. Delivered yesterday. The cans were dated 10/5/20.

 

Got my cans yesterday and massive shoutout to KRBC. This batch of Citra is fantastic!

 

The Citra and Camp Nelson are both outstanding, but the Side Hike hoppy red might be my favorite of the 3.

 

Will any Citra cans reach distro? Or is it all online? (I’m still chasing a good version of Citra. Never had the OG goodness )

 

Your chasing the dream, og Citra. Lol. I don’t think we will ever see the og return. But this is one is very good. Second year with a good batch of Citra hops. Still online.

 

You guys and your OG Citra crack me up ...

The Second batch of Citra (canned yesterday) will be majority distribution. Should hit Kern County Wednesday and the rest of the State by end of week. We have no way of controlling quantities and costs once it leaves our building, so good luck and let me know if anyone out there is price gouging or storing on a warm shelf.

For what it is worth, I find this batch slightly better than the first out of the brite tank.

Last batch of Citra gets canned Thursday and should resupply the online store. Second (and last) batch of Nelson is also out. We do plan on bringing that beer back next fall.

Yup. OG Citra was the beer back in the day. But I had another Citra DIPA a year before Kern release Citra. It was just a good if not better. It was a home brew from one of Sierra Nevada’s San Diego rep he brought to the California Homebrew Fest at Lake Casitas. When Citra hops wasn’t really known then.

 

@KRBCEric when will the newest canned Citra and Camp Nelson be available on your site for shipping?
