It seems to only show sold out when viewing the mobile site.

It won't work if you're doing it with your smartphone.

Yeah, I would gladly give up Citra altogether if it just meant being able to find Class V and Just Outstanding on the shelf as easily as it once was.

And would it kill them to bottle Class X? I mean, come on! It's a crime that it hasn't been considered.

It's been bottled before, it was just never distributed. A friend and I got a bottle at the brewery a few years ago, along with 8 growlers of Citra.

Have you thought about moving to Bakersfield ? It's considered the Santa Monica of the Central Valley and it's right by krbc

Ummm... are you saying that KRBC will automatically know which lottery winners won't show up and thereby release more bottles to lottery winners the very same weekend?

I meant that when the "lottery" weekend is done, they'll likely have some leftover bottles from the no shows. Just quietly release them during the week in the brewpub. It's not likely that those lucky lottery winners are going to be sticking around into the middle of the following week. Lottery winners who show up on the pick-up weekend are happy with their 6 bottles, and locals who come in for dinner on a weeknight get a very pleasant surprise. (I live 3-4 hours away, so I'm not local to KRBC, but I know that I'd really appreciate this if they were my local brewer).

Not sure how that will even work. Someone purchases it but doesn't pick up? The more likely scenario will be that a person wins the lotto and doesn't buy their bottles. That's the real question - What happens at that point? Do they just pick another name out of the hat and say "hey, someone didn't pick up, now you get a shot"? cause that would be cool, but I imagine a lot of place holder raffle tickets for folks who don't have any intention on buying.

It would be cool, but let's just say KRBC knows how to hook it up for locals. There was at least one or two batches that was draft only this year. At least one that happened when they brewed it for Firestone Invitational

Oh yeah, ISO: Class X bottled. FT: My soul.

I don't know for certain, but I imagine they would do it like Alesmith or LA. If someone fails to pick up bottles in the required time period (in this case, a single weekend), then they money is refunded. And the "refunded" bottles would be free to be sold however KRBC sees fit. Alesmith's current library sale is basically unclaimed bottles from their online sales. Of course, I don't know for certain that lottery winners who don't show up will be refunded, but I think CA has a law that businesses must either provide the goods/services paid for or offer a refund.

I think you're right that we don't know at this point whether KRBC will required immediate online payment for lottery winners or simply have them show up to pay. If it's the latter, they're going to have a lot more unclaimed bottles.

Wait, it's lotto winners that show up? It's basically lotto winners get to buy it online and pick it up at the place. I'm asking about the moment that lotto winners simply don't buy online. Those excess bottles can't really sit like Alesmith's offerings. I would hope that they would pick another name from the lotto system.

pick up starts the next day. So basically you win the lotto and you're able to buy online. But what happens come October 25th when a lotto winner, for whatever reason, just doesn't buy their bottles? Or say they don't buy all six bottles. Leaving an excess amount.

I really hope they would go on the 25th and offer it up to a new picked name from the hat.

From a FB post by KRBC:

"We will address the bottles not paid for from the lottery winners after Oct 24th. We plan to sell all our Citra supply to our customers as fairly as we can. Thanks for all your support for our beer!"

I'm sure they'll tweak their system over the next several releases, but I would rather see some lottery system than drive from LA at 3 a.m. not knowing if I'll get any bottles. And, then deal with line cutters, and such afterwards.

All of the complainers are insane to me. What does Kern owe us other than making delicious brews? As a business they can decide how they want to run their release.

I don't think it's crazy that a release has come to this...I think it's crazy that people are bitching this much about a solution. It's just beer!

Hey, at the very least, there should be a plentiful amount on tap if you live close enough to head up to the brewery itself even if you don't get selected in the lottery.

but what about the trade bait! People don't actually drink the bottles they pick up. It's a waste of time otherwise.

I was just going to post about this as I haven't heard anything either. The raffle site said winners would be notified via email, but it doesn't say if they will notify the losers..
