Paid a trip to the Kernel a few days back and picked up amongst others ... Imperial Brown Stout; London 1856. It's back and slightly bigger than it's last outing at 10% ABV Just tucking in ... fuck me yes - it hits the bloody spot !!! Although the smell isn't as pleasant as before, can't quite describe it!
Did you have any of the seemingly-one-off 13% Imperial Stout they made 18-odd months ago? It was delicious, but one of the most umami rich beers I've ever had and something akin to drinking charred steak.
