    Hi folks,

Wondering if anybody can chime in with some knowledge here. I will be travelling to the UK to visit my sister in a week or so and thought I would take the opportunity to order some beers from alesbymail.co.uk

Looking at order some IPA's from Kernel and Partizan. Derek from ABM has kindly advised me of the BB dates on the beers in question. While all in date, I'm wondering does anybody know what the time frames are from bottled on date to BB date?

    Cheers!
    Graeme

    3 months life for IPAs
    6 months for Pale Ales

i.e. IPA bottled on 1st March has a BBD of 1st June
Pale Ale bottled on 1st March has a BBD of 1st September

Older ones won't be bad but I got to have a very fresh one once and it was amazing.

I'm pretty sure both Kernel and Partizan include the bottled on date as well as the best by date on all of their bottles, so ABM should be able to provide the bottled on date.

Cheers mate. Does that apply to both Kernel and Partizan?

I guess that would make them around 3.5 months old which is still decent. Have had them quite fresh before and yeah they are amazing! Was going to mix it up anyway and get some stouts also.

Have you tried anything from Anarchy? Was also looking at Tiny Rebel

Kernel bottle dates for both pale and ipa spans 4 months.

They list the bottle date then suggest drinking fresh within 4 months then list that date.

eg, bottled 17/01/14, enjoy by 17/05/14.

Must have been imaging it or thinking of another brewery then. Anyway, drink AFAP, you get the idea.

I'd try Tiny Rebel's Urban IPA and Hadouken bottles definitely, maybe NP10 too. The other bottles are definitely lacking in character/body I find.

Anarchy's brews started turning up near me recently and I've had a couple. Citra Star was nice. Worth a punt....

I drain poured a 4 month old SANS IPA a little while back. Personally I think anything after 3 months you notice a severe drop off.

But I live 2 miles from the brewery so maybe I'm just overly picky. Most of the bottles I get are 3-5 weeks old. They usually release them about a fortnight after bottling.
