My family and I will be travelling to Ketchum, Idaho from the 14-21st. I'm looking for any sort of beer-related recommendations, as I am completely unfamiliar with the area (best beers, breweries, restaurants, shops...anything). Actually, any advice in general is welcome! I know I definitely want to do some snowboarding and drinking. The rest of the itinerary is wide open! Cheers & thanks.
There are only 2 breweries that I know of up there, Sawtooth brewing makes some good beers and sun valley brewing I haven't tried. If you want a day trip head down to Boise, only 2 1/2 hrs and lots to see and do with a number of really good breweries. Another neat place to visit is Craters of the Moon National Monument in Arco. You should have fun time Ketchum is a beautiful area. Do you have any recommendation for San Diego,I will be down there the 20-24th.
Thanks for the help!! @Xul can you direct @bvilord to your san diego guide in the pacific forum? I did a search for it and couldn't find anything. I remember it being a pretty definitive guide. Cheers & Thanks!
Thanks for the info, that will help out a lot. @TrojanHopHead Here is a link to all the Idaho breweries. Also has some good info for thing to do and places to go. http://www.visitidaho.org/breweries/
That visit Idaho list is pretty outdated. There are probably 6-8 that are in the Boise area now that aren't on that list. That said, Ketchum/Hailey is pretty tough. Sawtooth is really the only game in town IMO. Sun Valley is really not making anything worthwhile anymore. If you make it down to Boise, please feel free to message me directly... I'll be more than happy to show you around town or give some pretty pointed advice. Cheers.
