I am heading down to Key West tomorrow just wondering if anyone knows where I can pick up some Cigar City brews or other local beers. Recommendations on shops and local beers would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
How are you getting there/will you have a car? I really only know Miami stuff, but Sunset Corners is a pretty good bottle shop, as is Cork and Bottle. Whole Foods usually has CCB stuff, and I also recommend stopping by Jonathan Wakefield Brewing in Wynwood.
I'm flying into Miami and have a 1 hour lay over before the flight to key west. So I don't really have the time to venture off. So anything in key west would be best for me. Thanks for your input.
Best to ask in the South Atlantic forum but I went to Key West in June. There were no bottle shops but one on Summer Key I think, a full hour from Key West. I found Jai Alai about three weeks old at Winn Dixie, along with Maduro and Florida Cracker. Also found them at Walgreens on Duvall Street. If your looking for a good draft beer visit the Porch on Duval.
Lucky I happened to venture into the South forum for an upcoming trip of my own. We only have one place resembling a bottle shop and that's the Restaurant Store on Eaton St. They also brew a couple things of there own there. The main Cigar City stuff can be found at the supermarkets too. I also highly recommend The Porch. As gunner said, there is a store on Summerland Key but I can't vouch for their selection as I never make it up there. Its about a 30-40 min drive.
