    Happy weekend all!

I've had a Boston lager so far, and am now quaffing a Baladin Open. Only got it a few weeks back, but just realised that the best-before date was March! Should have checked when I was buying it - fuck!

I've got a Baladin (I think) in my outhouse

good reminder - must check have had it a while and cost a bit!

Now on a bottle of Porterhouse - Celebration Stout @ 11% ABV matured in an Irish whisky cask

It ain't bad either (from BOE last month) !

I've got another Baladin somewhere as well, but I stumbled across it recently and it's still good till the end of the year.....

You've got me all curious now so I had to pop into the garden and check ...

It's actually a Birra Del Borgo - Duchessa con fargo in a spirit shaped 750ml bottle

    BBE 06/12 !

    Thanks for the tip off!!!

Heh - I've got one of those as well! I think I'll have to drink it pretty soon though. The del Borgo brews that I've tried so far have been pretty good.

Never had one - don't even know what it is??? other than 5.8% ABV. Have heard of them for a number of years but never got round to a purchase until some months back via BOE

Have had one Baladin (an almond flavour one) that I shared a bottle with. OK - not my choice and not a fan of almonds so never likely to hit the high notes!

Felinfoel double dragon will always go down in drinking history with me

when I first started to sup a good mate 3 or 4 years older would always brag that he could take a lot more (as you'd expect)

we had a few one night at the Alex in Derby circa winter 90/91 and he had 2 pints of double dragon

we left the pub and he yakked up everywhere - all over this old drain covering, so much so that the remnants were still there some 2 weeks later !!!

he blamed it on a bad pint of FF DD

he was known for many a year, and occasionally still as '2 pints honk up Jon' !

I'm not sure what Duchessa is either. The others del Borgo beers that I've tried have been variations on American IPA - lots of hops. The one I'd recommend is My Antonia if you see it anywhere - an excellent beer!

My memory escapes - have had that a couple of times!

Imperial pilsner - I always class it as a DFH beer !

Have had it on both sides of the pond, wandering if the collaboration is IT brewed this side and Delaware's finest on the other side?

The highlight was the Tiny Rebel actually, the Urban IPA. Not hop rocketed - it was only one that wasn't sold out.

Talking to myself for a moment before bed but in an attempt to alert others ...

This was a great barell aged stout - gives many of those I've had from the US a run for the money

Just looked at BOE and they are out of stock - not surprised

    £3.49 for a 330ml - you won't go wrong!!!

I think you're right about that - both breweries brew it (if you look, there are 2 corresponding entries on BA). The one I had was the Italian one.

And now it's time for.....Brewdog's Alice Porter!

Decided to crack the Birra Del Borgo - Duchessa open after Jazzyjeff's timely reminder

Crisp refreshing saison, though a little sweet from my liking

Currently taking it as refreshment as I mow the lawn!
