Seems like the value of KH is all over the place. Do you guys think a bottle of Sang Noir 2011 and/or Kriek 2009 get this done?

I would say no.. edit: oh, missed the vintage info.. maybe, if someone is building a Cascade vert? ..but probably not..

    No.

Sang Noir was available quite recently online, and I'd imagine an 09' Kriek wouldn't be terribly difficult to obtain.

Would it be a fair trade based on "Good beer for good beer" "Ounce for ounce" and "$4$" Yes, Yes, Yes.... unfortunately that doesn't seem to matter much anymore.

    EDIT:

both of them together, I'd still say no..... despite over $4$ and ounce for ounce.

Nope :slight_frown: Maybe some of the older bourbonic, vlad, etc. might pull KH. I personally wouldnt trade KH for multiples of the beers you listed, though. I know at least here in NYC, both of those were on shelves within the past few months and are probably still on shelves in some shops.

I thought you were offering the entire Cascade Barrel House for a KH, which seems like it would get done, if you added on your end.

Seriously though, probably not given the current insanity.

Very doubtful on Sang Noir (I bought it off the shelf in NYC last month and you can often order it online directly from Cascade), and I don't know enough about the Kriek/vintage to weigh in, but I'd be willing to say you'd need to add probably.

Probably not either of them alone. Possibly together. The problem is that both saw distribution and were available for a few weeks at least. Also, both were available for purchase online. I realize someone will probably say that King Henry was a "shelf beer" and saw distribution too, but even though that's technically true, I think you'd be comparing apples and oranges.

Strawberry, Blueberry, or Figaro seem more likely...

I traded a Sang Noir + Blueberry for a KH
    and
Sang Noir + The Vine for a KH.

Both trades came from the same ISO and it they were made right before the barakacocka craziness with KH got out of hand.

    -Cheers

Thanks for the input, and I'm not surprised. I wish there were a few more traders willing to go quantity for rarity, but at the same I can see why they wouldn't. As much as I would like to try some of these rare beers I'm afraid I'll never have the rare beers to acquire them. Anyone interested in some Cascade?

    Cheers!

I have a similar kh question... if this post is even still live.
I have an abyss+night stalker trade and feel like I'm giving to much.
    Thoughts?

I also have cerise neuveau if any of you cascade fans have any offers.

Abyss + Night Stalker for King Henry? Sounds fine to me, but complete the trade before the nutjobs on here figure out who you're trading with and blow your offer out of the water.

The kh gets 100... but so does the abyss
The night stalker is not as high but kinda rare
I feel like I should be getting a little extra

I don't get it.. why would it be blown up
    What's peoples problem

Ratings carry very little weight in trades. Abyss and night stalker both trade far lower than KH. We don't get Abyss here in Rochester, but Night Stalker was still on the shelf in the last three months. King Henry sold out in hours. Rempo is telling you that your offer is fair, but that others would be willing to offer more for a King Henry. You should make that deal happen before the person holding King Henry gets cold feet.

i'm guessing/hoping that you are talking about BA Scores and not some grey market dollar? either way, KH is highly sought after and they trade fairly high for tough to land beers. whereas abyss and night stalker can probably be had for solid locals. i'd jump at the trade for the king henry if giving up an abyss and night stalker and not look for more...or if you think you are getting the short end of the stick, then just drink the beer you have, but you probably won't have another shot at king henry for those 2 beers again.
