I am still sitting on 1 bottle each, and yes, I have had them each multiple times but never side by side. While I think most will agree Rare is superior in almost every aspect, I just have always thought for the $$$, KH couldn't be beat. I guess my main question is how much longer do I wait to test my theory?

I can't imagine any reason to purposefully cellar King Henry. Entirely my opinion.

I actually thought KH was superior to Rare... I just opened a Rare a week ago and was surprised on how hot it still was. I will be kicking back a KH this week (my third since its release) and I still read and hear that it's epic. So I would definitely indulge in KH now.

Both delicious. Apples and oranges, I say.

I couldn't agree with this more. Had one in December and it was unbelievably good. Had another in April and while it was still amazing it was only believably good

The longer you hold onto the more rare it will become. Forget about the fact that it's pretty much perfect right now, and that it's possible that it may go downhill somehow.

I did this tasting last weekend for my birthday with a few friends and everyone agreed they were both amazing but KH beat out Rare for everyone!

I've had both multiple times and just honestly think KH is absolute perfect right now.

I would open both bottles- I enjoyed rare more at release than when I opened it recently, and KH drinks like a champ, no need to age.

As one of the guys who got to share a taste of Rare with this great guy a week ago I agree with the above statement. Rare was surprisingly "hot" and King Henry is just that good! I have had King Henry a couple times now and still believe it to be an outstanding beer and now I can also say better than Rare.
