I think you should send all those profits you earned from selling their beer to TG...so they can buy those additional fermentors you requested!

We all have a distorted view here. I have friends that think that spending $10 on a 6 pack is expensive. This "hobby" has gotten to the point that a $25 bottle is the normal.

Thats $25 for a 22oz bottle or $1.13 per ounce.

That would be $81.80 for a 6 pack of 12oz cans. I miss the days of cheap craft beer.

I clearly wasn't trying to hide the fact I sold a couple bottles, I told many people long ago and their immediate response was "Wow, sell one of mine".

I assume no one here has ever traded over $4$?

"Yeah, see it's not me who's wrong. It's you! Look at yourself!" Classic.

You do realize that if they increased production, the gap between supply and demand would diminish, thus making secondary market sales less lucrative. So you wouldn't be able to offset your beer expenditures by selling off extras, meaning you would not be able to purchase as much for your own enjoyment. Clearly you haven't thought that far ahead.

I didn't say anyone was wrong, its just reality. I would love to trade $50 of coffee bender for a $50 bottle of BVDL but that isn't reality.

If would be great if every brewery increased production so we wouldn't feel the need to stache bottles away like baseball cards for future consumption because "this beer is hard to get, I better buy more and drink it later"

When you try to rationalize it it just sounds like a con. I know I am constantly on those beer websites looking to spend 200 dollars on a 25 bottle of beer.

Well, we've all probably sold an old bottle of something at cost here and there. Sorry to call you out Pikey. It just isn't fun when time and time again I miss out on great Toppling Goliath beer and others are buying it like crazy and then selling for a profit.

It is what it is. It's a community that users capitalize on. Whatever.

I see both sides of it myself, I sold two bottles of Assassin after buying too much and then listed those 3 bottles for someone else yesterday. I can't say anymore about it, if people are mad so be it. I didn't try and hide anything. I sold 2 bottles, I shipped them, and I included extras just like I do with every trade. I can't deny I felt a little weird about it but someone was willing to pay that, who am I to say no?

I get frustrated when I see people showing up with their entire family knowing only one of them is probably into the beer. It happens with everything sadly.

When we were at the taproom for Assassin a few weeks ago, a local was there with his wife buying their 6 bottle allotment for the 5th straight day. What can you do but shrug your shoulders and more on.

I've been around a long time and opened many a rare bottle for no reason at all other than enjoying good beer. I didn't buy the beer with the intention of selling but it happened.

I guess its time for me to go into the shadows now. Bye.

I love craft beer. But seriously, following the van? Get fucking life. Or maybe TG should give hand stamps (3 day ink) with their deliveries. Anyone who buys has to get their hand stamped. Then the stores check for stamps before selling to someone. Hand stamped already = no sale. That would give these guys a slap in the face back to reality.

I think you are missing the point , If you REALLY NEED to sell, Rather than sell for a profit, why not come on here and look for people that got shut out and sell to them (+ gas) to "re-coup" your "losses" ?

The only reason people are paying over 200 dollars for Assassin is because your charging over 200 dollars for Assassin.

I'm out of the loop by the sounds of it (no, I know that I am) but was the TG taproom putting out bottles of Assassin a couple weeks ago? Daily? And how much daily? Wish I would have known about this (though that was quite possibly the point, keeping in on the DL; however, by the sounds of it a 6 bottle limit was more than enough to "save some for the locals").

And to keep this on-topic, I did happen land a bottle King Sue and Sosus. Cannot wait to open...so stoked, brahs.

I suggest you go back to college and take some more economics classes. It takes both a BUYER AND A SELLER to get a working price.

Everyone has committed some form of selfish, disingenuous, or dishonorable act in their life. Get your head strait, stop making excuses, and realize it was/is a pretty shady move. Show some sense of humility and people will get over it. Or don't. Either way I don't care, but don't complain about being called out.

My trading philosophy is when someone takes possession of a bottle from me, it's theirs to do what they want with it- even sell it. I don't care if you buy/sell online, or bring your wife and friends to mule. America! Wine people don't get all sentimental over bottles and secondary markets. Some of you are responding like he took it to the house, refilled it with Worthy Adversary, rewaxed it, and sold it.

Mattafett, really? I suggest you click on the link. It clearly says STARTING BID 209.99 that doesn't sound like a working price to me.
