So, Mr. B's has a FB posting about a Germany vs. Belgium tasting this weekend...and one of the beers is the Andechser Doppelbock Dunkel.
Anyone know any more about this? Are we part of the distro finally? Any other stores have any or getting any?
While we get many excellent German beers in Denver, that one is king of the hill. A few months of age are no problem, too.

Hmmm. There's a shot I'll be going by there this afternoon. A stop is now in order!

Very cool. Well, if anyone has never had their beers - they're all full-on 5-star top tier. All of them. Think German equivalent of Sint-Sixtus.
Seems they export their vollbier (normal helles), doppelbock, weissbier hell, and weissbier dunkel. All of those are among the finest examples of those styles that you'll find anywhere. As long as our bottles aren't ancient, the packaged versions hold up fine, too.

You've got that right. Man I could drink Vollbier helles all day long.

A remarkable spot to sit and enjoy a few beers as well, if anyone is ever in Bavaria.

They are imported to Denver and either RepNational as them or CR Goodman. Let's hope the former

Indeed Marczyk's does have it. So happy right now :grinning:

Hey @Domingo, you mind sharing what the bottle date was on that? I've seen a few in my neck of the woods, but the date looks like Oct of '13.

So does the one in my fridge someone gave me after a trip to Germany hold less value now?

Worthless! The rarity is gone, so it probably tastes awful now.

These are dated differently from the German bottles. Those were always as simple as 0814 or something similar. These are marked as L1754.

Gotcha -- seen some L3013s around here. Will have to keep an eye out for fresher batches.

Any other sightings other than Colfax Marzcyk? Tried 17th Ave location today and they were clueless.
I need to fill my logo mass!

Checked today, RepNational does not distribute it. So CR Goodman must have it (if anyone does). Will check next week...shall I order some?

The label reads "Imported by S&H Independent Premium Brands LLC - Denver CO"
Is that the same importer other regions have? Paulaner/H-P USA is also based in town.

This has been available in Boulder for a while. They run just over four bucks a pop.

Yup. They only had the doppelbock, which is probably the monastery's overall best beer...at least in a bottled format. They another 1 or 2 when I was there on Wednesday, but I was told more were on the way along with the helles and weiss.
