Was talking to the local distributor of Knee Deep, and he said there was something planned, and that his accounts were asking for it.

Anyone know if this is true??? Can somebody say Pliny the Simtra???

Seems like it's taking forever to get the label approved.

Will the combined effort create something better than their best individual beers?
    Doubt it, collabs never do.

man, I feel the exact same way. Have yet to have a collab beer that was anywhere near as good as the breweries individual efforts. Collabs sound great on paper but rarely come off well. For the most part I'm over them, just brew your own beer.

I agree. I wish I could try this one so I could say it's untrue though.

Did you get a chance to try Beachwood's & Drakes collaborations the Mind Melder last year? That was the best damn collarb beers I ever tasted. And right now I can't say the same for the Vulcanizer. This Deep River sounds great on paper but…..lets see. Could be another wash out.

Honestly I have higher hopes of this because it is with Kern River and not Russian River. Kern makes better IPAs in my opinion, and they aren't outdated and uninspiring like RR....can you say Citra and Winter Ale?

I think Rue d Floyd was near as good. Overall though, I think you are right for the most part.

Tried some Deep River this weekend and it was delicious. But what I was more impressed with was their Fresh Hop! Man that was damn tasty! Bummed they didn't have growlers of that. But definitely looking forward to bottles of the Deep River.
