Do you if they were bottled on the same day by any chance?

I have had the KRBC version on draft only, and the KDBC on both draft and in bottle. Agree that the KRBC was superior, but I think that has everything to do with the carbonation issue. Both the KDBC bottle and draft that I had, at multiple places, were rather flat.

Yep. All from the same batch and case.

It's coming up on a month since the Knee Deep version was bottled. Still haven't seen any of the bottles showing up in the LA/OC area. With reports on a lot of these bottles being flat with not much or no carb I would say its probably too late for a fresh bottle to be consumed. A month old bottle isn't bad but you would have to think that it's definitely not fresh anymore. I will pass on any bottles if they suddenly start showing up in SoCal.
On another similar note, I just opened my last (of 4) growler of Deep River (KRBC) on Thanksgiving Day and it had the most carbonation of the 4 fills. I would post a pic of it here but have no idea how to do it. Still tasted very delicious. One note on the fills. All 4 growlers were not filled to the top (topped off). I actually had 5 growlers filled (one for a buddy here on BA) and 3 of the 5 had no or very little carb and none were filled to the top. All were capped tight and taped. Still a very good beer. IMO.
Maybe the Deep River bottles will start appearing here in SoCal just before the next Citra release!

    Conspiracy theory…..

The bartenders at KRBC, during the Citra release, were doing a pretty poor job with the growler fills...leaving a shitload of air space in the growlers. Someone needs to instruct them how to fill the growlers all the way to the top. I had to drink my growlers much sooner that I would have liked to because I knew they would go flat in a few days.

Valley Beverage had it for about five minutes last week or the week before. I asked about it the next day after seeing their IG post and it was sold out. I haven't seen it on social media anywhere else near me (as in, within 30 mins of the Culver City area), but it's hit few places further out.

Not to put the blame on the barkeeps that Saturday (I understand they were very busy) but one of my growlers of Deep River was 3/4 full. I didn't notice till I got to my car and was putting it inside my cooler. It felt lighter than the others. So I took that one back and the lady who waited on us at our table accused me of pouring a glass from it and bringing it back for a full pour. I didn't know how to react at the time and just looked at her with a confused look. I thought she may have been joking about it. I talked to Kyle about the 3/4 full growler and he blamed himself as he was filling some of the growlers. Still a world class brewery with world class beers.

Agreed! I brought back a growler of Class V for the wife (in hopes she'd stay the hell out of my Citra) and it was already flat when we opened it the next day.

I'm in HB and will not drive that far for a bottle or 2 of Deep River. It's a bit closer to LAX (work) but still not worth it. Yes I will drive 3 1/2 to 4 hours to KRBC (Citra) or 2 hours to ABC (IPA's) but for a bottle…..
If it shows up locally like it was suppose to then yes. But who knows…..maybe it did show up and it was given away.

I swear I saw someone post pics on facebook that bottles were in L.A. Can't remember who though, and now I can't find it.

Almost all the places I get my growlers filled they fill it to the top. Some will tape it off. To me this stays fresher a bit longer. I have had unopened growlers up to 4 weeks with no issues……as long as it's filled properly.

they showed up in the SGV for a hot minute in Monrovia, but by the time I called they were out.

So who knows when they'll show up anywhere.

It's on tap at La Sirena grill in South Laguna Beach. Stuff is ridiculously good. Had it today for lunch. (Calamari tacos and Kern River IPAs FTMFW)

I got a bottle in Valencia. I don't think this was spread out very evenly in the LA area.

It's at Sunset Beer Co. but be prepared to pay $10.47 a bottle (limit 2, I think).

That must be for the carbonated version ! Seriously though, we drank the shit out of this at the Citra release last month and from tap it was awesome, I heard a few shops in the OC may get a case later this week.

    Cheers,

If the shops do get it them in Bud they will be over a month old. I know a month isn't bad, but.....it ain't fresh.
