I'm headed down to Knoxville in a week and I'm just wondering if there are any must have beers to get while I'm down there.
If you are driving through Lexington KY, stop at Country Boy Brewing, they should have a few of their barrel-aged bombers for sale, and depending on the day, West Sixth Brewing's Heller Heaven DIPA is getting a heavily limited can release. I have a friend who lives down that way, and he's never talking up his local stuff.
Couple of breweries in Knoxville. Saw Works brewing is good. Nice people , 5 or so in house brews. Down Town brewery is decent , good food too. Suttree's high gravity tavern is an excellent tap room. Barleys taproom is an awesome selection of beer and pizza. As far as Must haveā¦..not really. Fanatic Brewing does not have a tap room but makes a really good pale ale. Lots of bars around will have it.
When I was there not too long ago, I had the Classic Saison from Blackberry Farm which was pretty tasty.
If you can get hold of any Blackberry Farm stuff, it is damn good. Unfortunately, right now, they don't distribute except to a few high brow restaurants. Of course you could stay at Blackberry farm, but at almost $1000 a night, might be out of alot of folks price range
