Yup, that Tropical Thunder is amazing. How come they haven't bottled that?? Easily one of the top Pale Ales in LA/OC/IE.

That's the same Top 250 that doesn't include Orval. Can anyone tell me with a straight face that a list that has beers like Simtra, Knuckle Sandwich, and Southern Tier Choklat rated above Orval should be taken the least bit seriously?

But we must drink the list!

We could all say that about beer x, y and z. To each his/her own. I use top 250 as a reference guide, I'm not simply "ticking" 3oz pours to reach my goal of top 250. And for the record, I like choklat but not as much as creme brulé.

Was there last night and Tropical Thunder was on tap. Started out with that.. Really good. Had Knuckle next, for the first time since my original first time about 3 years ago... still not good. Solventy or Soapy bitterness at the end, too malty/soupy/not dry enough. If they limited the amount of Crystal/Vienna/Munich or whatever malts are making it so dark it would be a lot better. East Coasters would love this beer.

I drank the one bottle I purchased today. I thought it was delicious. Nice malt to back up the hops and tropical notes. I love DIPAs!

Went to the tasting room today and couldn't agree more about the latter. The guy who served me had the personality of an acorn. Between my dad and I we walked out with three bottles and he didn't offer us anything to put them in.

By the time I got home (from holding the bottles between my legs) my nuts were colder than the East Coast. Um, NSFW.
